Raipur : Deputy Chief Minister and Urban Administration and Development Minister Shri Arun Sao took charge of training at the 'Nagar Suraj Sangam' today. Addressing the inaugural session of the orientation-cum-workshop for newly elected representatives of urban local bodies, he shared the urban development roadmap through a detailed 50-slide PowerPoint presentation with mayors, chairpersons, MIC members, commissioners, and senior engineers from the state's 14 municipal corporations. In his hour-long address and presentation, Shri Sao provided detailed explanations for each slide.
The workshop covered key aspects including the Atal Vishwaas Patra, challenges faced by urban local bodies, citizens' expectations, responsibilities of elected representatives, cleanliness and sanitation, waste management, urban forestry, urban transport, street lighting, tax collection, and various dimensions of the City Development Plan.
Shri Sao also highlighted exemplary work being done by local bodies in cities like Coimbatore, Chennai, Ahmedabad, Indore, and Pimpri-Chinchwad. He further presented insights on innovative urban resource management and recycling practices from countries like Denmark, Singapore, Germany, and Japan.
