Raipur : Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai praised the Union budget presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, describing it as a “holistic budget” with vast developmental potential.

“The first budget of the third term of the successful Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji was presented today. The seventh budget of Finance Minister Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman ji is a budget of vision and determination. This budget ensures development for all”, he stated.

Chief Minister highlighted that the budget's significant focus on agriculture and employment makes it historic. He emphasized that Rs 1.52 lakh crore allocated for the agriculture sector is particularly noteworthy for Chhattisgarh, predicting that this will usher in a new green revolution and prosperity for farmers.

Discussing the Pradhan Mantri Janjati Unnat Gram Abhiyan Yojana, aimed at the tribal population, Chief Minister noted that this scheme is a crucial step towards the development of tribal communities. He mentioned that 5 crore tribal people in 63,000 villages would benefit from this initiative. This will improve the socio-economic condition of the tribal community in Chhattisgarh.

Shri Sai also pointed out provisions in the budget to support youth employment and skill development, including internships for one crore youth with a stipend of Rs 5,000 per month and a Rs 2 lakh crore scheme for skill development. The increase in the Mudra loan limit from Rs 10 lakh to 20 lakh will aid young entrepreneurs in start-ups, creating new employment opportunities in Chhattisgarh. Besides, a provision for education loans up to Rs 10 lakh for higher education in domestic institutions aims to improve education and skills.

Chief Minister lauded the allocation of Rs 2.66 lakh crore for rural development, asserting that the Shri Modi's government is committed to the welfare of villages, the poor, farmers, and youth. He believes this budget will be a milestone in realizing Modi’s vision of a developed India by 2047.

Shri Sai further mentioned that the budget includes Rs 1.52 lakh crore for agriculture and related sectors, offering financial security and resources to farmers. The initiative to register 6 crore farmers' information on the land registry aims to resolve land disputes promptly. Plans to enhance agricultural research, expert monitoring, and promote climate-adapted varieties will benefit Chhattisgarh farmers through new technologies and resources.

Employment incentives were another highlight, with first-time EPFO registrants earning less than Rs 1 lakh receiving assistance of Rs 15,000 in three installments. The budget also provides for one month’s salary to new employees, promotes employment generation in the manufacturing sector, and assists employers. Tax relief for salaried individuals through revised tax slabs will result in considerable savings for taxpayers, he noted.

Shri Sai also stated that the budget includes a policy for the creative re-development of cities and the completion of the Polavaram irrigation project. Moreover, special attention has been given to innovation, research, and development in the budget.

Delegation expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister Shri Sai for taking the initiative for their long-waited demand

Tribal Research and Training Institute of Chhattisgarh recommended the inclusion of Pav, Pabia, Pavia, and Paviya communities in the list of Scheduled Tribes based on characteristic features

Raipur : Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai has initiated an effort to include Chhattisgarh's Pav, Pabia, Pavia, and Paviya communities in the list of Scheduled Tribes. These communities have been waiting for years to obtain Scheduled Tribe certificates. The Chief Minister has submitted an ethnographic study report with recommendations to the Union Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India, for further action.

A delegation, led by MLA Shri Ram Kumar Yadav, representing the Pav, Pabia, Pavia, and Paviya communities, met with Chief Minister Shri Sai in the Assembly Committee Room on July 22. They expressed their gratitude for his thoughtful initiative.

Addressing the delegation, Shri Sai stated, "You have waited so long with the demand of inclusion in the Scheduled Tribes list. The state government has submitted a report with recommendations to the Central Government. We hope for a positive outcome." He thanked the delegation for coming to Raipur despite the rainy season.

The delegation informed the Chief Minister that their Scheduled Tribe certificates were issued under the Madhya Pradesh government before bifurcation. However, for the past 22 years, these certificates have not been issued due to spelling errors, preventing their children from receiving benefits meant for Scheduled Tribes and hindering their education.

The representatives reported that these communities have a population of about 22,000 across the state, primarily residing in Chandrapur, Raigarh, Lailunga, Kharsia, Pendra, Marwahi, and Jashpur.

The Tribal Research and Training Institute of Chhattisgarh conducted an ethnographic study of these communities, recommending their inclusion in the Scheduled Tribes list based on characteristic features.

MLA Shri Ram Kumar Yadav praised CM Shri Sai's sensitivity and requested land in Raipur for a community hall. Notably, Chief Minister Shri Sai belongs to a Scheduled Tribe and has worked for tribal communities since the beginning of his public life, giving him a deep understanding of their challenges.

Raipur : Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai visited Jamdi Pateshwar Dham Ashram in the Dondilohara development block of Balod district on the occasion of Guru Purnima today. He met Sant Yogi Balakdas at Kaushalya Dham's satsang place and received his blessings.

Chief Minister offered floral tributes at the Samadhi Sthal of Brahmalin Sant Ram Janki Das ji and planted a Rudraksh sapling in the satsang premises. He also offered prayers at the Shiv temple, wishing for the state's happiness, prosperity, and well-being.

While addressing the Guru Purnima Mahotsav, Chief Minister welcomed all attendees. He announced plans to build the Samadhi of Brahmalin Gurudev Ram Janki Das in Pateshwar Dham, install high mast lights in the temple premises, and construct a shed for devotees. Raipur : Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai attended the 124th birth anniversary celebrations of Dr. Khubchand Baghel today, held at the Dr. Khubchand Baghel Commercial Complex, Phool Chowk in the capital Raipur. He garlanded the statue of Dr. Khubchand Baghel and paid his respects to him. Cabinet Minister Shri Tank Ram Verma and former Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel were also present on this occasion.

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, reflecting on Dr. Khubchand Baghel's legacy, described him as the visionary of Chhattisgarh, renowned for his contributions as a distinguished doctor and litterateur. Remembering the late Prime Minister Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee, he acknowledged Shri Vajpayee's fulfillment of the ancestral dream in the creation of Chhattisgarh, expressing gratitude on behalf of the state. "We are all grateful to Atal ji. Now it is the responsibility of each one of us to work towards the development of our state", he stated.

Highlighting his government's achievements in its seven-month tenure, Chief Minister Shri Sai noted, "With your blessings, I have been entrusted with the leadership of the government. On the second day of our government's formation, we sanctioned houses for 18 lakh poor families. We have procured paddy from farmers at Rs 3100 per quintal and 21 quintals per acre, cleared pending paddy bonuses spanning two years for 13 lakh farmers, and are providing financial assistance of Rs 1000 per month and Rs 12000 annually to over 70 lakh women under the Mahtari Vandan Yojana. Besides, we increased the tendupatta collection rate from Rs 4000 to Rs 5500 per standard bag. Similarly, several other important decisions have been made."

He affirmed, "We are committed to realizing the vision our ancestors had for Chhattisgarh. Endowed with abundant mineral wealth including coal, iron, bauxite, gold, and diamonds, our state's mineral resources are a significant asset. The diverse forest produce enhances the state's natural beauty, and through its value addition, we aim to economically empower our forest dwellers."

Revenue Minister Shri Tank Ram Verma encouraged attendees to actively contribute to societal and state development. He praised Dr. Khubchand Baghel's lifelong efforts to eradicate social discrimination and uplift the underprivileged, promoting social harmony.

Another Major Decision of Shri Sai's Government in the Interest of Farmers

2. To provide fair value to the farmers for their produce, Cabinet has decided to amend 'Chhattisgarh Agricultural Produce Market Act'. Cabinet has approved the draft of the Chhattisgarh Agricultural Produce Market (Amendment) Bill, 2024.

With the amendment of 'Chhattisgarh Agricultural Produce Market Act', traders and processors registered or licensed by other state market boards or committees will be able to buy and sell notified agricultural produce through the e-NAM portal (National Agricultural Market) without registration. The e-NAM portal (National Agricultural Market) is operated by Government of India. This decision will enable farmers and sellers in Chhattisgarh to receive the maximum price for their produce.

According to the amendment proposal, the term "market fee and farmer welfare fee" will replace the existing "market fee." Additionally, the market board will deposit 10 percent of its gross annual income into 'Chhattisgarh State Farmer Welfare Fund' for farmer welfare activities. This fund will be utilized for purposes included in the rules.

3. Cabinet has made significant decisions regarding the allocation, management and granting of ownership rights for government land in urban areas of Chhattisgarh. The previously issued directives and circulars related to these matters have been annulled.

This includes the circular issued by the Revenue and Disaster Management Department on 11 September 2019 regarding the management of encroached land, allocation of government land, and the process of determining and recovering annual land rent in urban areas; the circular issued on 26 October 2019 regarding granting land ownership rights for permanent leases in urban areas; the circular issued on 20 May 2020 regarding converting permanent leasehold lands into ownership rights in Nazul areas; and the circular issued on 24 February 2024 regarding the allocation of government land, management of encroached land, and granting ownership rights in urban areas.

In the Cabinet Meeting held today, decision to display the information regarding land allocated under these directives on the website of Revenue Department was also taken. Any objections or complaints received on this subject will be heard by the Divisional Commissioner.

4. Cabinet has approved the draft of 'Chhattisgarh Goods and Services Tax (Amendment) Bill, 2024'. This follows the GST Council's decision to rationalize provisions related to the Input Service Distributor and to register machines used in the manufacturing of items such as pan masala and gutkha. Consequently, the Central Goods and Services Tax Amendment Act 2024 was notified on 15 February 2024. Accordingly, similar amendments to the Chhattisgarh Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017, have been proposed.

5. Cabinet has authorized the General Administration Department to take necessary actions to place the 22nd Annual Report of the Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission (for the period from 01 April 2022 to 31 March 2023) before the Legislative Assembly.

Raipur : Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai participated in the Sushasan Samvad program held at Ashoka Hotel in New Delhi on July 18. He underscored his government's dedication to good governance and transparency, detailing the various efforts taken to implement effective policies for the state's welfare and development.

During the Sushasan Samvad program, marking six months of his government, Chief Minister Shri Sai highlighted the achievements and initiatives undertaken. He noted that the biggest challenge for the BJP government was maintaining the trust of the people. He stated that within just 100 days, the government succeeded in restoring this trust by fulfilling the guarantees promised by Shri Modi ji in the state manifesto.

Chief Minister Shri Sai addressed various public questions, emphasising that his administration had effectively eliminated systemic corruption and revenue loss prevalent under the previous government. He mentioned that public works are now being carried out smoothly, discouraging those who previously benefitted from commissions. He affirmed, “Both the intention and policy of our government are right.”

Focusing on efforts against Naxalism, he stated, "Our government has made significant strides in strengthening security in Naxal-affected areas. We have established security camps in these areas and accelerated development works, achieving substantial success not only in security but also in development."

During the program, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai emphasised the numerous steps his government has taken to promote transparency and good governance in Chhattisgarh. He stated, "We have simplified and made administrative processes transparent so that the public can quickly and effectively find solutions to their problems."

Highlighting his government's achievements, Chief Minister Shri Sai stated that immediately upon taking office, they provided Pradhan Mantri Awas to 18,12,743 needy families, as guaranteed by Shri Modi ji. Farmers received two years of pending paddy bonuses, and paddy purchase commenced at the promised rate of Rs 3100 per quintal, with a limit of up to 21 quintals per acre. Under the Mahtari Vandan Yojana, financial assistance of Rs 1000 per month is being provided to women in the state. The remuneration rate for tendupatta collection has been increased from Rs 4000 to Rs 5500 per standard sack.

Chief Minister Sai stated that his government has brought substantial development and good governance to the state, taking significant steps to enhance security. He stated, "We are adding value and preparing for our vision of Chhattisgarh's future. We have initiated numerous new projects for the state's development and are providing all necessary facilities to the public."

45 couples tie the knot in Raigarh under this scheme

Raipur : A total of 45 couples tied the knot under Mukhyamantri Kanya Vivah Yojana in Raigarh district on Tuesday. The main objective of the scheme is to alleviate the financial difficulties faced by poor families, prevent wasteful expenditure on weddings, and improve social status by organizing mass marriages. An amount of Rs 35,000 was transferred to the bank account of each couple in the name of the bride by the government. Bags, makeup items, clothes, and other gifts were given to the bride and groom, along with marriage certificates.

Among the beneficiaries, Smt. Devanti Sidar, a resident of Gopalpur, Boirdadar, and Smt. Bharti, a resident of Bhagwanpur, shared that they got married on July 16 under the Mukhyamantri Kanya Vivah Yojana. They were registered through an Anganwadi worker and benefited from the scheme. They mentioned that due to poverty, it was a huge challenge for their families to arrange the marriage, but the scheme helped solve this problem easily. They thanked Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai and Women and Child Development Minister Smt. Laxmi Rajwade, stating that the scheme has reduced the financial burden on their parents and enabled them to have the wedding they wanted.

Chhattisgarh government is running many schemes for women, including Mahtari Vandan Yojana and Mahtari Jatan Yojana. Among these is the Mukhyamantri Kanya Vivah Yojana, which provides assistance to financially weak families for the marriage of their daughters. The scheme significantly reduces the financial burden on parents, helping families with limited financial resources marry off their daughters. Parents of daughters often start worrying as soon as their daughters reach marriageable age. It is every parent's dream to have a grand wedding for their daughter, but financial constraints often hinder this dream. In such situations, the Mukhyamantri Kanya Vivah Yojana proves to be a boon, alleviating the financial burden on thousands of families and easing their worries.

CM Vishnu Deo Sai discusses Chhattisgarh Vision @ 2047 with Union Home Minister Amit Shah

Raipur : Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai today met Union Home Minister Amit Shah and discussed in detail the Chhattisgarh Vision @ 2047 created for the long-term development of Chhattisgarh.

During this important meeting held at his residence in New Delhi, the Chief Minister informed the Union minister that the state government has identified eight different areas towards developed Chhattisgarh. He added that a working committee has been formed to accelerate development in these areas, which is regularly discussing with the common people and experts and preparing an effective action plan.

Chief Minister Sai also apprised the Union Home Minister about the effective action being taken against the supply and funding network of Maoists in the state. He informed that the state government has taken strict steps to curb the activities of Maoists and dismantle their financial network.

The Chief Minister also informed the Home Minister about Naxal operations and development works in Maoist-affected areas. He added that infrastructure is being expanded rapidly in Maoist areas, and the state government has conducted special campaigns for education and health services in these areas.

During the meeting, Home Minister Amit Shah appreciated the efforts of the Chhattisgarh Government and assured full support of the Central Government to maintain peace and stability in the state.

Raipur : Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai attended a state-level dialogue program, “Mor Sapna Mor Viksit Chhattisgarh” organised by the Rajya NITI Aayog to prepare the Chhattisgarh Vision 2047 document. The event took place at the New Circuit House on July 16. In his address, Chief Minister Shri Sai stated that the vision document for 'Viksit Chhattisgarh' is being developed with the participation of all stakeholders. This initiative aligns with Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi's resolution to make India a developed nation by 2047. Finance Minister Shri O.P. Choudhary presided over the program.

Chief Minister Shri Sai highlighted that, under Prime Minister Shri Modi's leadership, India has become the world's fifth-largest economy over the past decade and aims to become the third-largest in the next five years. He emphasised Chhattisgarh's significant role in achieving this goal, noting the state's abundant natural resources, forest wealth, and human resources. The Chief Minister stressed the importance of adding value to the state's resources to achieve 'Viksit Chhattisgarh.' He called the Chhattisgarh ‘Yuva Rajya’ and emphasised that the government will focus on vocational training through the implementation of the new education policy. Shri Sai stated that his government is implementing reforms in every sector with the cooperation of all stakeholders and is taking steps to ensure transparency in governance, adhering to a zero-tolerance policy towards corruption.

He highlighted the significant discussions on organic farming and appreciated the perspectives shared by youth, farmers, women, and intellectuals on the development of Chhattisgarh. Coming from a farming background, the Chief Minister expressed his deep interest in agriculture and emphasised the importance of rural development. The event saw participation from various sections of society, including a large number of women, whose presence was specially acknowledged by the Chief Minister.

During the program, Chief Minister Shri Sai addressed questions about the 'Drone Didi' scheme, sharing that training for this initiative is being arranged at the technical university in Bhilai. This aligns with Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi's goal of making 3 crore 'Lakhpati Didis', where Drone Didis will play a crucial role. He praised Padma Shri Jageshwar Yadav for his dedicated service to the Korwa-Birhor community, despite being uneducated and living a simple life.

Finance Minister Shri O.P. Choudhary stated that suggestions received during the program would be compiled by the Rajya NITI Aayog. He highlighted the immense potential of tourism and the service sector in the state and emphasised the need to promote organic farming to counter the rising cancer rates due to chemical fertilisers. He also stressed the importance of increasing youth participation in agriculture and considering land consolidation for progressive farming. Shri Choudhary emphasised the need to focus on land labelling, fencing, and water availability for the irrigation of horticultural crops. He suggested promoting agro-tourism in the state and enhancing skill development initiatives to achieve ‘Viksit Chhattisgarh’.

The event, attended by approximately 200 participants, included notable figures such as Padma Shri recipients Shri Ajay Mandavi and Shri Jageshwar Yadav, along with farmers and youth representatives. Many participants offered suggestions for Chhattisgarh's development. The Chief Secretary and Vice Chairman of the Rajya NITI Aayog, Shri Amitabh Jain, and Planning , Economics & Statistics Department Secretary Shri Ankit Anand also addressed the program. Raipur : Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai said that the state government will provide every possible support for the establishment of industries in the state. The government aims to establish new industries, ensure value addition within Chhattisgarh, and create employment opportunities for the local youth. Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai made these remarks while discussing the recommendations of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) regarding the new Industrial Policy 2024-29. This discussion was held at Chief Minister's residence office today. On the occasion, Secretary to Chief Minister Shri P. Dayanand, CII Chhattisgarh State Council Chairman Shri Ashish Saraf, Vice Chairman Shri Sanjay Jain, and members including Shri Narendra Goyal, Shri Anand Singhania, Shri Ramesh Agarwal, and Shri Pankaj Sarda were also present.

During the meeting, CII members appreciated the Single Window System, and lauded the efforts of Chief Minister to promote industries for generating employment.

In his address, Chief Minister Shri Sai highlighted the state's abundant natural resources and valuable minerals. He emphasized on the wide scope of value addition for both minerals and minor forest produce in Chhattisgarh. He said that although hundreds of MOUs were signed over the past five years, but there was no sign of implementation of any. The state government intends to establish new industries to provide employment for the local youth.

Chief Minister Shri Sai acknowledged the significant suggestions provided by the CII regarding the new industrial policy, which will be forwarded to the state's industry minister and the policy formulation committee. He assured that all the suggestions would be studied, and the best ones will be incorporated into the new industrial policy. He referred to the vision of our esteemed Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi to make India a developed nation by 2047 and to make India the world's third-largest economy within the next five years. In alignment with these goals, we are striving towards the vision of 'Developed Chhattisgarh'. He announced that the new industrial policy and the vision document for a developed Chhattisgarh would be released on State Foundation Day, November 1.

CII members, during their discussion with the Chief Minister, appreciated the Single Window System in Chhattisgarh. They requested Chief Minister to establish a timeframe for the Single Window System. They acknowledged the significant potential for value addition in minor forest produce, dairy industry, and downstream industries in the steel sector. Chhattisgarh, being a power-surplus state, could also establish data centers that require large amounts of electricity. They also requested the inclusion of the real estate industry in the new industrial policy. On this occasion, CII members gave their recommendations and suggestions for the new industrial policies.

Loanee and non-loanee farmers can benefit from the PMFBY

Raipur : Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana is being implemented in Chhattisgarh to provide relief to farmers from crop losses due to natural calamities. Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai has directed agricultural department officials to ensure the registration of all farmers to benefit from this insurance scheme, enabling them to receive compensation in case of crop damage due to natural disasters.

According to the notification issued by the Chhattisgarh Government's agriculture department for the Kharif season 2024, farmers must register to avail the benefits of the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana. The deadline for registration is set for July 31, 2024. Farmers can insure their main crop of paddy (irrigated and non-irrigated) as well as other crops such as maize, urad, and kutki.

The scheme provides relief to farmers for losses caused by adverse weather conditions, drought, floods, inundation, hailstorms, and other natural calamities. Both loanee and non-loanee farmers who are landowners or sharecroppers can benefit from this scheme. Farmers wishing to insure notified crops in notified villages can do so before the stipulated date by registering with their Aadhaar card, loan book, B-1 patwari khasra, bank passbook copy, and sowing certificate. Insurance can be obtained through banks or Choice Centres.

According to the government notification, different insurance companies have been authorised for various districts:

- Bajaj General Insurance Company Limited for Bemetara, Bastar, Koriya, Bijapur, Sarangarh-Bilaigarh, Kabirdham, Janjgir-Champa, Gariaband, Mohla-Manpur-Ambagarh Chowki, Sakti, and Kanker districts.

- Agriculture Insurance Company of India Limited for Rajnandgaon, Dhamtari, Korba, Jashpur, Narayanpur, Khairagarh-Chhuikhadan-Gandai, Mahasamund, Raigarh, Surajpur, and Kondagaon districts.

- HDFC General Insurance Company Limited for Durg, Bilaspur, Manendragarh-Chirmiri-Bharatpur, Sukma, Mungeli, Surguja, Balodabazar-Bhatapara, Balod, Raipur, Dantewada, Balrampur, and Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi districts.

Farmers are urged to insure their notified Kharif crops to maximise the benefits of the scheme. For more detailed information, farmers can contact their local Rural Agricultural Extension Officer or the nearest bank branch.

Raipur : Chhattisgarh will receive five national awards for outstanding work in the Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana—National Urban Livelihoods Mission. The Government of India has selected the State Urban Development Agency (SUDA) and four urban bodies—Bilaspur, Raigarh, Champa, and Bhatapara—for the prestigious 'SPARK-2023-24' awards. These awards recognise excellent efforts in empowering urban poor families and enhancing their livelihood opportunities in the state. The award ceremony will be held on July 18 at the India Habitat Centre in New Delhi. It will be organised by the Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs. The Union Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs, Shri Manohar Lal, and the Minister of State, Shri Tokhan Sahu, will present the awards.

Deputy Chief Minister and Minister for Urban Administration and Development Shri Arun Sao congratulated the SUDA team and the four urban bodies for this achievement, which brings pride to the state. He expressed gratitude to the central government for this honour. Under the National Urban Livelihoods Mission, beneficiaries are being supported through social mobility, institutional development, self-employment, skill training, assistance to urban street vendors, and shelter schemes for the urban homeless. Dr. Basvaraju S., Secretary of the Urban Administration Department, also congratulated SUDA and the selected urban bodies. He stated that Chhattisgarh has been consistently performing well in this mission, which is committed to the economic and social empowerment of women and youth.

Shri Shashank Pandey, Chief Executive Officer of SUDA, shared that these awards are being given for excellent work in empowering urban poor families and increasing their livelihood opportunities. Through the effective implementation of the Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana—National Urban Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NULM), urban bodies have made significant improvements in the lives of the urban population. Beneficiaries in the state are continuously supported under the National Urban Livelihoods Mission and the Prime Minister Street Vendor’s AtmaNirbhar Nidhi (PM SVANidhi) scheme.

Chhattisgarh will receive awards for outstanding urban development initiatives

Chhattisgarh is being recognised with national awards for its exceptional work under the Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana—National Urban Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NULM). The state's efforts in 2023–24 have yielded impressive results, including the formation of 2,653 women's self-help groups, with 1,532 groups receiving revolving funds totaling Rs. 1.532 crore. Additionally, 123 area-level organisations and four city-level federations have been established to promote women's empowerment. The state has distributed Rs. 23.5 lakh in grants to 47 area-level organisations and provided individual loans worth Rs. 31.17 crore to 3,028 beneficiaries for various businesses. Group loans totaling Rs. 7.73 crore have been provided to 1,352 members of 340 groups, and bank-linked loans amounting to Rs. 76.74 crore have been provided to 2,766 self-help groups for income-generating activities.

The state is also operating 47 shelter homes in 39 urban bodies, with four more under construction, to accommodate urban homeless individuals. As part of the street vendors' assistance scheme, surveys have been conducted in all urban bodies, and vendor ID cards and certificates have been distributed. Twenty-five vending zones have been demarcated, and nine vending markets have been constructed and operationalised.

Recognising the crucial role of street vendors in supplying essential services and goods, the state is implementing the Prime Minister Street Vendor's AtmaNirbhar Nidhi (PM SVANidhi) scheme. A total financial assistance of Rs. 165.25 crore has been provided to needy individuals through banks under the PM SVANidhi scheme.

At the meeting, Chief Minister Shri Sai and Shri Sharma discussed various topics related to the banking sector in Chhattisgarh. Chief Minister said that banks play an important role in making government schemes easily accessible to common people. Bank branches should be further expanded to the remote areas of Chhattisgarh state, especially villages, so that more and more people in remote areas can become a part of the banking system.

During the discussion, Chief Minister Shri Sai emphasized on increasing financial inclusion in the state and connecting the people of rural areas with banking literacy. Shri Sharma informed Chief Minister about the steps being taken by the State Bank of India in this direction and the future action plan. Deputy General Manager Raipur Shri Rakesh Kumar Sinha was also present on this occasion.

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai Inaugurates 'Sankalp Jashpur' Program

Raipur : Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai inaugurated the "Sankalp Jashpur" program today in Duldula area of Jashpur district. This program has been initiated with the objective of creating societal awareness and behavioral change across the district and to educate women on preventing child marriage, vaccination, sickle cell disease, and snakebite prevention.

Supported by district administration, UNICEF, Women and Child Development Department, Health Department, Education Department, and NRLM, volunteers are conducting awareness campaigns in over 160 panchayats for the public representatives and common people. The campaign includes street plays based on the issues of sickle cell, anemia, snakebite safety, mother-child vaccination, school enrollment drives, plantation drive, as well as prevention and management of health and waterborne diseases, aiming to impart crucial information for public welfare.

Chief Minister Shri Sai also launched videos and cut-outs as part of the Sankalp program. The program was attended by UNICEF district coordinator Shri Tejaram Sarathi and his team, district administration officials, and a number of dignitaries.
