Programmes to Be Held at Gram Panchayat, Block, District and State Levels with Widespread Public Participation
Raipur : To commemorate the 150th anniversary of the national song Vande Mataram, Chhattisgarh Government's Department of Culture is organizing a series of special programmes across the state in four phases. Under this initiative, the second phase of events will be held from January 19 to January 26, 2026.
On Republic Day, January 26, special programmes will be organized in Raipur in the presence of the Governor and in Jagdalpur with Chief Minister as the chief guest. On the same day, in all district headquarters, block headquarters, gram panchayats, and schools and colleges across the state, large-scale collective singing of Vande Mataram will be organized after the flag hoisting and the National Anthem. Ministers, Members of Parliament, MLAs, public representatives, local officials, eminent citizens and the general public will actively participate in these programmes.
During the second phase, from January 19 to 26, various educational institutions across the state will host musical performances, special assemblies, essay competitions, debates, quizzes, poster-making, rangoli, painting and exhibitions on the theme of Vande Mataram, with the participation of NCC, NSS, Scouts and Guides. The State Police Band will also present performances based on Vande Mataram and patriotic songs at public places.
With public and private participation, Vande Mataram audio-video booths will be set up across the state, where citizens can record their own rendition of Vande Mataram and upload it on the campaign’s dedicated portal. The portal will also provide the facility to sing along with a pre-recorded tune of Vande Mataram.
It is noteworthy that the first phase of the programme was successfully organized from November 7 to 14, 2025. The third phase will be conducted from August 7 to 15, 2026, in conjunction with the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign, while the fourth phase will be held from November 1 to 7, 2026. In accordance with the guidelines of the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, these programmes will be organized at the gram panchayat, block, district and state levels with extensive public participation, with the objective of strengthening emotional connect with the national song and deepening the spirit of patriotism among citizens
