Raipur : The Chhattisgarh Government, led by Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, is dedicated to fulfilling the promises made during the state assembly elections. Under the Chief Minister's guidance, ministers have begun assessing the progress of welfare schemes and departmental operations. In line with Chief Minister Shri Sai’s directives, Deputy Chief Minister Shri Vijay Sharma reviewed the status of welfare schemes and the performance of the Panchayat and Rural Development Department.

Deputy Chief Minister Shri Sharma directed the officials to expedite the construction of houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. He instructed officials to formulate and execute an action plan within the specified timeframe. He also instructed officials to prepare an action plan for the systematic development of villages, large in population. He instructed the officials to organise a 'Gramin Sachivalaya' once a week to address villagers' issues. Furthermore, he highlighted the need to ensure that the benefits of major schemes should reach tribal families under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Vikas Yojana. He assured that there would be no shortage of funds for the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and emphasised the approval and swift completion of houses in all gram panchayats.

Deputy Chief Minister Shri Sharma emphasised that eligible beneficiaries unable to build houses will receive support from volunteers. Officials must also ensure sufficient availability of masons (Rajmistri). In cases where masons are unavailable, arrangements should be made to train residents as masons. Additionally, if necessary, officials should provide beneficiaries with a list of vendors supplying construction materials.

He stated that work on all approved houses of one batch should begin simultaneously, and house-warming ceremonies (Graha Pravesh) should also be held together. To provide banking facilities to beneficiaries for construction, he emphasised that in villages far from banking services, beneficiaries should be assisted in withdrawing money through bank sakhis, CSCs, and mobile banking vans.

Construction of 139,000 houses has been completed since December 1, 2023

Officials informed that since December 1, 2023, the construction of 139,000 houses has been completed, with work on an additional 62,577 houses is underway. They informed the Minister that more than 23,000 houses are being built every month. Under the Mukhyamantri Awas Yojana (Rural), the state government has set a target to construct 47,090 houses, with construction already started on 33,115 houses. Similarly, under the Niyad Nellanar Yojana, the construction of 689 houses has been approved, and 384 houses have been completed. Under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Vikas Yojana, the construction of 20,279 houses has been approved, with 145 houses completed.

State government will construct a well-equipped ‘Mahtari Sadan’ in the gram panchayats for women

The state government will construct a well-equipped Mahtari Sadan in the gram panchayats for women. This building will have all the necessary facilities and will host various activities for women. The Deputy Chief Minister approved the design and instructed officials to complete the project soon. The Mahtari Sadan will cover 2500 sq ft and include a veranda, a hall, a kitchen, a storeroom, and toilets. It will feature water harvesting technology and a tubewell for water supply. Boundary walls will also be built to ensure the security of women.

Deputy Chief Minister instructed officials to issue guidelines for organising a 'Gramin Sachivalaya' once a week at the gram panchayat level and once every 15 days at the development block level to address problems, complaints, and cases in gram panchayats. He also directed the officials to create a portal to monitor the activities of Gramin Sachivalaya.

Prepare a development plan aligned with the standards set by the Union Ministry of Panchayati Raj for villages large in population”: Minister Shri Sharma

Villages, large in population, will be developed in a planned manner, starting with villages that have a population of over 3,000 in the first phase. Minister Shri Sharma instructed the officials to prepare a development plan aligned with the standards set by the Union Ministry of Panchayati Raj for selected villages. He also instructed officials to reinstate the 'Hamar Chhattisgarh Yojana' educational tour scheme for panchayat representatives.

Deputy Chief Minister instructed officials to develop a plantation plan for Amrit Sarovar based on the village's needs, construct ponds and toilets, and create employment opportunities under MGNREGA. He also reviewed activities related to BC Sakhi, Lakhpati Didi, their training programs, and the provision to provide low-interest loans to women in self-help groups under the Chhattisgarh State Rural Livelihoods Mission.

Principal Secretary Smt. Niharika Barik Singh, Joint Secretary Shri Taran Prakash Sinha, Director of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana(Rural) Shri Rajat Bansal, Director Panchayat Smt. Priyanka Rishi Mahobia, Mission Director of National Rural Livelihoods Mission Smt Namrata Jain, Mission Director, State Swachh Bharat Mission Smt Sanjay Chandan Tripathi along with senior officials of the department were present.
