Preparations in Full Swing for First-Ever All India Speakers’ Conference in Delhi: Gupta

New Delhi : A high- level meeting will be convened tomorrow by Speaker of Delhi Legislative Assembly Vijender Gupta to review the preparations for the upcoming All India Speakers’Conference scheduled to be held on 24th–25th August 2025 at the Delhi Assembly premises.
This marks the first time that the national capital will host the All India Speakers’ Conference. The meeting is likely to be attended by the Chief Secretary, Government of NCT of Delhi, the Commissioner of Police, Delhi and others officer's.

Further, this year’s All India Speakers’ Conference holds special significance as it coincides with the Centenary of Shri Veer Vitthalbhai Jhaverbhai Patel, the first Indian to be elected as Speaker (then designated as President) of the Central Legislative Assembly, on 24th August 1925. His election was a defining moment in India’s parliamentary history, and the 2025 Conference, being hosted in the national capital for the first time, stands as a befitting tribute to his democratic legacy,Gupta said.
The Conference will be formally inaugurated by the Hon’ble Union Home Minister and will be concluded by the Speaker of the Lok Sabha. The event will also be graced by the Chairman of the Rajya Sabha, Union Cabinet Ministers, as well as the Speakers and Deputy Speakers of various State Legislative Assemblies,Gupta said.L.S.
