State government will restart the Charan Paduka Yojana and launch a new social security scheme for the tendupatta collectors
Raipur : Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai graced the 'Jungle Jatra 2024' Mahasammelan held at Vikas Nagar Stadium in Kondagaon on March 12. He made a significant announcement about procuring tendupatta at a rate of Rs. 5500 per standard beg in the program. He stated,” Our government has fulfilled one more of Modi’s Guarantees promised to the people of the state. The new rate will be effective for the Tendupatta Collection Season 2024. He stated, “I am proud to be present among the officials and beneficiary members of the primary forest cooperative societies and joint forest management committees of Bastar Division”.
Chief Minister Shri Sai recalled the promises made by Shri Modi and stated, “Modi ji said that if our government is formed in Chhattisgarh, we will increase the tendupatta collection rate from Rs. 4000 per standard beg to Rs. 5500 per standard beg. Today, we are fulfilling our promise. Additionally, we will restart the Charan Paduka Yojana”. He mentioned that the increase in the tendupatta collection rate will directly benefit 12 lakh 50 thousand beneficiary families. There is a possibility of an additional income of Rs. 240 crores for the beneficiary through this increased rate. Along with this, the state government is also launching a new social security scheme for the tendupatta collectors.
Chief Minister Shri Sai stated,” Before this program, there was a program held in Balod district. We have fulfilled one more promise made to the people of the state under Modi’s Guarantee on that program. You must have heard about it before I told you because you are also a farmer”. He further shared that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi made a promise to the farmers of Chhattisgarh to procure paddy at a rate of Rs. 3100 per quintal and up to 21 quintals per acre. Today, under the Krishak Unnati Yojana, the state government has paid an amount of Rs. 13,320 crore as the difference amount of the paddy procurement to the farmers of the state.
Chief Minister Shri Sai stated that, under the Mahtari Vandan Yojana, the state government disbursed the first instalment of Rs. 1000 to more than 70 lakh eligible women in the state on March 10. The state government has disbursed a total amount of Rs. 655 crore under this scheme and will provide Rs. 1000 to all eligible beneficiaries every month without any hassle.
Minor forest produce from Bastar will undergo value addition
Chief Minister Shri Sai stated that the Modi government cares about villages, the poor, tribals, farmers, women, and youth. Shri Modi has directed the same to the Chhattisgarh Government. Modi’s Guarantee is the pathway for the prosperity and well-being of Chhattisgarh. Chhattisgarh Government is fulfilling every promise made to the people of the state one by one. He further shared that his government’s prime focus is on the Bastar and Surguja regions. These regions have immense potential for development. Even though these regions are abundant in forests, arable land, rivers, and mineral resources, the lives of the residents have not improved. The state government has devised a development strategy that ensures that local resources will benefit local people.
The Chief Minister stated that in Bastar, there are 65 types of minor forest produce, including tamarind, mahua, and amla, which are also exported to the other regions of the country. The state government would make a plan to carry out more processing and value addition at the local level. There is abundant production of coarse grains like kodu, kutki, and ragi, which have a high demand in today's world. The provision for more processing and value addition at the local level would be made for these coarse grains as well. The government will encourage the producers and support them. The area under irrigation will be expanded more in the Bastar and Surguja regions so that double cropping can be carried out in these regions too. The state government has adopted a policy of judicious utilisation of mineral resources. The income generated from mineral resources will be spent on welfare activities such as education, health, and employment. This will ensure local development.
Niyad Nellanar Yojana will bring development to interior regions
The biggest obstacle to development in Bastar is Maoist terrorism. The state government has established camps with a dual role, security camps as well as development camps. The state government has initiated the 'Niyad Nellanar' Yojana for the overall development of these areas. The state government is providing security in these areas and establishing new camps to enhance security within a radius of 5 kilometres of the camp. Through this scheme, the state government is providing 25 basic facilities and 32 individual-focused government schemes. Under this scheme, the state government will provide houses to the residents of these regions through the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. Free rations will be provided to them. All families will be provided with land rights pattas, four gas cylinders free of cost per year, free electricity, etc.
He mentioned that under the 'Niyad Nellanar' Yojana, the state government will establish the Anganwadi, Community Hall, sub-health centres, and primary schools in villages. The state government will provide irrigation pumps, including borewells, for irrigation purposes to the farmers. Hand pumps and solar pumps will be installed in villages. The state government will establish a playground in every village. He stated that Devgudis and Madai Mela hold significant importance in Bastar's culture, and the state government is making efforts to conserve both. Previously, only Rs. 25 lakh were allocated for the Bastar Dussehra, but now the state government has increased the amount to Rs. 50 lakh. The amount allocated for the Chitrakote Mela has been increased from Rs. 10 lakh to Rs. 25 lakh. Similarly, the state government has decided to allocate Rs. 10 lakh for the Fagun Madai of Dantewada.
Chief Minister stated that the Chhattisgarh Government is a double-engine government. Now, development in Chhattisgarh will pace up at full speed. The state government has a policy of "Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Aur Sabka Prayas". The state government has initiated the process to provide 18 lakh houses to the eligible beneficiaries of the state. Yesterday, the amount for the beneficiaries of this scheme was also released. Chhattisgarh would play a crucial role in fulfilling Modi’s aims for a developed India by 2047.
Following the completion of the survey in nine villages in Kondagaon district, the villagers received land records
Chief Minister Shri Sai informed that the state government has completed the survey of nine unsurveyed villages in Kondagaon district today. Following that, the residents have been provided with the Khasra number. The people of these villages were previously deprived of the benefits of government schemes because they had not been surveyed. Now they will get the benefits of various schemes related to agriculture, irrigation, solar energy, animal husbandry, and fish farming. They will also be able to easily access loans for business purposes.
Under the State Rural Livelihood Mission, the government will provide a grant of Rs. 6.33 crore to 1055 self-help groups of 15 cluster-level organisations from the Community Investment Fund. This will enable 11 thousand members to engage in various livelihood activities such as dairy farming, goat rearing, pig farming, fish farming, clothing stores, fancy stores, and other livelihood activities to strengthen their social and economic status. Additionally, more than 1200 forest rights certificates were distributed, along with scholarships to talented students and financial assistance under the BIMA Yojana to families. Appointment letters were also provided to the victims of naxalism for government jobs. With the motto "Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas," these welfare initiatives of the Chhattisgarh government are being continuously carried out. These efforts of the state government would, with the utmost confidence, bring a new light of progress into the lives of the people of the state.
