A New Milestone in Honouring and Empowering Women— 22nd Instalment of Mahtari Vandan Released

Raipur : Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai on Wednesday released the 22nd instalment under the state government’s flagship Mahtari Vandan scheme—an initiative aimed at accelerating the economic empowerment of women—by pressing a button during a programme held at Mohla–Manpur–Ambagarh Chowki.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister Shri Sai said, “Mahtari Vandan scheme is a living example of the government’s commitment to the dignity, safety and economic self-reliance of mothers and sisters. The women of Chhattisgarh are the foundation of progress for families, society and the state, and that their empowerment is essential for a strong and prosperous Chhattisgarh.”
He further noted that the monthly transfer of funds directly into bank accounts not only provides financial support to mothers, but also ensures assistance for meeting the nutritional, health and educational needs of their families. He emphasised that the government aims to ensure that no eligible beneficiary is left out and that the scheme continues to be implemented with full transparency and timeliness. The Chief Minister expressed confidence that the Mahtari Vandan scheme will pave the way for lasting positive change in the lives of millions of families and infuse new energy into the state's development journey.
It is noteworthy that since the launch of the Mahtari Vandan scheme on March 1, 2024, a total assistance amount of Rs 13,671.68 crore has been provided to beneficiaries through 21 instalments so far.
This month, funds were transferred via DBT into the bank accounts of 67,78,674 eligible beneficiaries - Of these, Rs 633.89 crore was provided to 67,71,012 beneficiaries, while 7,662 women from the Niyad Nellanar area received Rs 76.30 lakh. Thus, a total of Rs 634.65 crore was transferred to eligible beneficiaries under the 22nd instalment of the Mahtari Vandan scheme.
