36.13 lakh children will receive two drops of the polio vaccine in the state
Raipur : Pulse Polio Immunisation drive under the Pulse Polio Immunisation programme will be conducted in the state from March 3 to March 5, 2024. The polio drops for children aged 0 to 5 years will be administered at the booths on the first day, March 3. The Healthcare Department will take up a drive to visit houses from March 4 to March 5 to administer polio drops to all children aged 0 to 5 years.
State Immunisation officer Dr. V. R. Bhagat has informed that vaccines and other necessary supplies for the campaign have been made available in the districts. The Health Department has set up 14,000 booths in urban and rural areas of the state to administer polio drops to over 36.13 lakh children this year. During the campaign, the transit team will focus on administering the vaccine to children in transit at places such as railway stations, bus stands, markets, brick kilns, slum areas, construction sites, etc.
The Health Department has provided training to vaccination teams at the village, sector, primary health centre, and block levels. Supervisors will oversee all booths during the campaign. All necessary preparations have been completed for the successful implementation of the Pulse Polio Campaign.
