Raipur : Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai has paid heartfelt tributes to freedom fighter, teacher, politician, and former Chief Minister of Bihar, Shri Karpoori Thakur, on his death anniversary, on February 17. Remembering Shri Karpoori Thakur, Chief Minister stated that Karpoori ji always struggled for the upliftment of the Dalit, exploited, and deprived classes.
His simple life, clear thoughts, and indomitable willpower influenced a large number of people. Due to his popularity and spirit of service, he is also called 'Jananayak'. The Government of India has announced to posthumously honour him with India's highest civilian award, the 'Bharat Ratna'. He added that Karpoori ji made the countrymen aware of their rights, and his contribution to the nation will always be remembered.
