Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel today inaugurated the modern composite indoor firing range 'Lakshya' at the Police Training School located in Mana, Raipur. To further improve the policing service in the city, Chief Minister flagged off the new police vehicles and inaugurated various buildings including the cyber police station, and the women's help desk equipped with modern technology and police facilities on the occasion. The firing range 'Lakshya' has been built as per the international standard at a cost of Rs 6.67 crore, to provide better training to the Chhattisgarh Police. The program was presided over by Home Minister Mr. Tamradhwaj Sahu.

In his address to the programme, Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel said that police service plays an important role in maintaining peace, law and order in the state. Hence, we are taking every necessary step to strengthen the police service in Chhattisgarh. In the same sequence, special emphasis is being given on providing a better environment, better facilities and better resources to the police department.

Chief Minister Mr. Baghel said that he is happy to inaugurate the modern composite indoor firing range 'Lakshya' today. It is an important step of the State Government towards modernization of the police force. This ultra modern firing range will help enhance the strength and skills of the police force, enabling them to discharge their duties in a better way. He said that police force has done excellent work towards maintaining the peace and security of the state. Chhattisgarh has a better state of law and order as compared to the other states of the country. This has been an important achievement of the policing service in Chhattisgarh.

Addressing on the occasion, Home Minister Mr. Sahu said that  consistent steps are being taken by the government towards ensuring development and establishing security in the state. Furthermore, state-of-the-art facilities are being provided to strengthen the police services in the state. Director General of Police Mr. Ashok Juneja and Additional Director General of Police Mr. Pradeep Gupta informed about the innovative initiatives being taken in the field of policing service in Chhattisgarh.

Chief Minister Mr. Baghel also inaugurated range-level new cyber police stations in Raipur, Bilaspur, Durg, Bastar and Surguja on this occasion. Cyber police stations have been started to curb the increasing number of cyber crimes nowadays. Mr. Baghel also inaugurated the new improved police station buildings at Bade Dongar in Kondagaon district, in Farasgaon and Sonpur of Narayanpur district, in Balrampur Chalgali and Ramchandrapur areas of Balrampur district, Saraipali, Duhlu and Komakhan area of Mahasamund district, in Katekalyan area of Dantewada district, Chilfi and Singhanpuri in Kabirdham district and Patankhas in Rajnandgaon district. 

At the programme, Chief Minister Mr. Baghel laid the foundation of residences for 16 non-gazetted, 32 head constables and constables of 16th Battalion, Chasbal Narayanpur, and police transit hostel buildings in districts Balrampur, Raipur and Durg. He also handed over the keys of 67 new two wheelers (scooties) for women help desks and 155 new Bolero vehicles for district police units to the police department.

On this occasion, Parliamentary Secretary Mr. Vikas Upadhyay, MLA Mr. Satya Narayan Sharma, Principal Secretary Home Mr. Manoj Pingua, Secretary Home Mr. Arun Dev Gautam, Additional Director General of Police Mr. Pawan Dev, Mr. Himanshu Gupta, Mr. SRP Kalluri, Mr. Vivekananda Sinha, Inspector General of Police Mr. Anand Chhabra, Mr. Ajay Yadav, Mr. O.P. Pal, Mr. Ratanlal Dangi, Mr. R.P. Sai, Dr. Sanjeev Shukla and other police officers and employees were present.
