Chief Minister Mr.Bhupesh Baghel will release Rs 18.47 crore to the beneficiaries of the Godhan NYAY Yojana on July 5

 State government paid Rs 488.67 crore to the beneficiaries of the Godhan NYAY Yojana so far

Chief Minister Mr.Bhupesh Baghel will virtually release an amount of Rs 18.47 crore to the beneficiaries of the Godhan NYAY Yojana on July 5. This includes payment of Rs 5.05 crore to cattle rearers in lieu of 2.52 lakh quintals of cow dung procured from June 15 to June 30 in Gauthans, and payment of Rs 7.79 crore and Rs 5.53 crore to Gauthan committees and women's SHGs, respectively, as a dividend. The self-supporting Gauthans' involvement in cow dung procurement is steadily rising day by day. Since the commencement of this scheme, the proportion of payments made by self-supporting Gauthans has  reached 60 to 70 percent. More than 60 percent of Gauthans have become self-sufficient enough to pay the amount for the procurement of cow dung and gau-mutra and can also bear the expenses for operating Gauthans from their own funds.

It is worth mentioning that under the Godhan NYAY Yojana, payments totaling Rs 488.67 crore have already been made to cow dung sellers, Gauthan committees, and women’s self-help groups. After the payment of Rs 18.47 crore on July 5, this figure will increase to Rs 507.14 crore. The Godhan NYAY Yojana, which commenced on July 20, 2020, is one of the most popular schemes of the Chhattisgarh government. Under this scheme, cow dung is purchased from the beneficiaries at Rs 2 per Kg. As of June 30, 2023, the state government had paid Rs. 242.07 crore to the cow dung vendors for the procurement of 123.56 lakh quintals of cow dung. Following an additional payment of Rs 5.05 crore scheduled for July 5, the total amount will reach Rs 247.12 crore. Moreover, Gauthan committees and women's SHGs have received Rs 231.53 crore, which will rise to Rs 244.95 crore after the payment of Rs 13.42 crore to these committees and groups on July 5.
