Mr. Rajiv Gandhi's vision of empowering the farmers is being realised in Chhattisgarh: Chief Minster Mr. Baghel

An amount  of Rs. 2 Thousand 28 Crore 92 Lakh distributed to beneficiaries under NYAY schemes in the ‘Bharose ka Sammelan’

In commemoration of the death anniversary of former Prime Minister, Mr. Rajiv Gandhi, Chief Minister Mr. Baghel performed Bhumipujan for the Mahatma Gandhi University of Horticulture and Forestry located in Gram Panchayat Sankra. Mr. Baghel also paid homage to Late Mr. Rajiv Gandhi in the Bharose Ka Sammelan by distributing a fund of Rs 2 Thousand 28 Crore 92 Lakh to the beneficiaries of different NYAY schemes. Addressing the occasion, Mr. Baghel stated that Mr. Rajiv Gandhi played a vital role in strengthening the Panchayati Raj and bringing the country to the fore of the Information and Technology revolution. He further said that the state government is constantly working towards strengthening the financial condition of the state’s farmers by providing them with financial assistance given under numerous NYAY schemes. On this occasion, Mr. Baghel also bestowed developmental works worth Rs. 443 Crores. This includes the inauguration of 17 works completed at a cost of Rs 68 crore 26 lakh and Bhumi Pujan was also performed for  71 works worth Rs 374 crore 87 lakh.  

Bharose ka Sammelan

Mr. Baghel stated that former Prime Minister, Late Mr. Rajiv Gandhi believed that the country’s economy can’t be strengthened without financially empowering the farmers. The state government is also following this path to realize the vision of inclusive development by constantly supporting the farmers of the state with the NYAY schemes. Even in the difficult corona phase, financial assistance was transferred directly to the accounts of farmers. He further added that the condition of farmers of Chhattisgarh is better than that of farmers in any state. Today, an amount of more than Rs. 02 thousand 28 crores has been transferred to the accounts of farmers and laborers under various NYAY schemes. The first installment of Rajiv Gandhi Kisan NYAY Yojana has been provided to more than 24 lakh farmers. Mr. Baghel further said that the state government has decided to buy 20 quintal paddy per acre and the amount of purchase is directly being transferred to the beneficiaries. Forest produce collectors are also getting fair prices for their produce. Chhattisgarh Government is also serving ‘Gau Mata’ through Gauthans and is taking care of Mother Earth by using organic manure. Whether it is Gariyaband, Mohla Manpur, the state government is ensuring that the Tendupatta collectors do not face any kind of problem.

The University of Horticulture and Forestry has been established in the name of Mahatma Gandhi and today Bhumi Pujan was done for various buildings of this university to be constructed at a cost of Rs 120 crore. Assembly Speaker Dr. Charandas Mahant, presiding over the program, said that, the state government is constantly working to realize the dreams of late Mr. Rajiv Gandhi under the leadership of Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel . The rural populace is being uplifted by establishing rural businesses as per the dreams of Gandhiji. On this occasion, former Union Minister Ms. Shailja Kumari said that smile is visible on the faces of the people of Chhattisgarh, seeing which it seems that the dream of late Rajiv ji has come true. The happiness of the people is the result of the influx of prosperity and the trust that the people of Chhattisgarh have developed. On this occasion, Home Minister Mr. Tamradhwaj Sahu, Forest and Climate Change Minister Mr. Mohammad Akbar, MLA Mr. Mohan Markam also addressed the gathering. School Education Minister Dr. Premsai Singh Tekam, Urban Administration Minister Dr. Shiv Kumar Dahriya, PHE Minister Shri Guru Rudrakumar, Women and Child Development Minister Smt. Anila Bhendia and other public representatives were present on the occasion.

The Chief Minister laid the foundation stone of the Mahatma Gandhi Horticulture and Forestry University to be constructed at a cost of Rs. 120 crores in Sankra village of Patan today. Notably,14 government and 4 non-government colleges are functioning under this university.  After this,the Chief Minister transferred financial assistance to the beneficiaries of numerous NYAY schemes.  Rs 1894 crore 93 lahks was transferred to 24 lakh 52 thousand farmers as the first installment of Rajiv Gandhi Kisan NYAY Yojana, Rs 112 crore 71 lahks was transferred to the accounts of 5 lakh 63 thousand beneficiaries of the Rajiv Gandhi Gramin Bhumiheen Krishi Mazdoor NYAY Yojana. Similarly, Rs 13 crore 57 lahks was disbursed to cattle herders, Gauthan committees, and self-help groups under the Godhan NYAY Yojana. and Rs 7 crore 71 lahks was also distributed to 3085 Rajiv Gandhi Yuva Mitan clubs of 13 districts
