State Government's ambitious 'Mukhyamantri Haat Bazaar Clinic Yojana' is playing an important role in improving the accessibility of healthcare facilities to the distant rural regions of the district. With this scheme, villagers are able to easily access health check-ups and medicines at the nearby haat bazaars. The scheme is being successfully implemented in the district under the guidance of Collector Shri Vinay Kumar Langeh. Mobile medical units are providing free medical check-ups and medicines to people on the days of weekly haat-bazaars in the rural and remote areas of the district.

According to information received from the Health Department, since April 2022, nearly 70,000 patients have benefited from free medicines and tests, and are prioritizing coming to the Haat Bazaar Clinic for facilities like routine check-ups in rural areas. Moreover, patients are being referred to district hospitals and community health centers according to their treatment needs. The Haat Bazaar Clinic is offering various tests such as hemoglobin, blood sugar, high blood pressure, dengue, diarrhea, malaria, RD test, HIV, VDRL solubility, and COVID-19, along with the distribution of 64 types of medications.

Free healthcare facilities bring relief to rural beneficiaries

The scheme is providing better healthcare facilities to people in remote and inaccessible areas of the district and is being praised by the rural masses. Satyanarayan, one of the beneficiaries, a 70-year-old resident of Rajauli village in the Sonhat development block, has been suffering from joint pain for a long time and found it difficult to travel for treatment at his age. However, ever since the scheme was launched by Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, the mobile medical unit regularly visits the Haat Bazaar, enabling him to receive free treatment there. Satyanarayan said that he is being provided with free medicines along with check-ups, which has greatly improved his health.

Similarly, Rakesh Soni, a resident of the same village suffering from high blood pressure, also shared his experience saying that he used to get treatment at a private hospital earlier, which was expensive, but now he receives free check-ups and medicines every week at the Haat Bazaar Clinic. He expressed satisfaction with the facilities available at the clinic and thanked the Chief Minister for the initiative.
