Chhattisgarh State Forest Development Corporation handed over a cheque of Rs 3.51 crore towards dividend and lease rent to the Chief Minister

Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel was given the dividend of Chhattisgarh State Forest Development Corporation for the year 2021-22 by Forest Minister Mr. Mohammad Akbar and Chairman of Chhattisgarh State Forest Development Corporation Mr. Devendra Bahadur Singh in his office room located in the Vidhansabha Complex today. A cheque of Rs 3.51 crore was handed over to the Chief Minister. On this occasion, Agriculture Minister Mr. Ravindra Choubey, Advisor to Chief Minister Mr. Rajesh Tiwari, Principal Secretary Forest Department Mr. Manoj Kumar Pingua, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests and Chief of Forest Force Mr. Sanjay Shukla and Principal Chief Conservator of Forests and Managing Director, Chhattisgarh State Forest Development Corporation Mr. A.K. Bhatt were present.

Chairman of the Chhattisgarh State Forest Corporation, Mr. Devendra Bahadur Singh, stated that because of the work done by the Forest Development Corporation, forest dwellers living in the state's forest areas and villagers belonging to economically backward classes have been provided with continuous employment to improve their social and economic conditions. Opportunities are being generated. The corporation has not obtained a loan from a bank or other financial institution, nor has it received a grant from the state government. Forest Development Company is dedicated to promoting greenery and environmental development throughout the state.

Managing Director of Forest Development Corporation, Mr. A.K. Bhat, informed the Chief Minister that in the financial year 2021-22, an income of Rs 69 crore 11 lakh was generated from the sale of forest produce and other income received from the thinning of teak plantations planted by the Forest Development Corporation under the work plan approved by the Government of India, and various works worth Rs 31 crore 79 lakh were spent on it. The Corporation achieved a net profit after tax of Rs.36 crore 48 lakh during the financial year.

In the financial year 2021-22, the corporation planted 35 lakh teak trees in an area of 1982 hectares and 7 lakh 47 thousand mixed species plants with funds obtained from various public undertakings through the Deposit Planting Scheme for environmental improvement in the state of Chhattisgarh. He stated that 13,504 cubic meters of timber, 7,845 pieces of balli, 5,698 pieces of firewood, and 86 notional tonnes of bamboo were produced during the financial year 2021-22.
