Babupara resident Arjun Singh also got the benefit of the scheme

A total of 2 lakh 4 thousand 426 people in Surguja district have got free treatment under the ‘Mukhyamantri Shehri Slum Swasthya Yojana’ so far. Under this scheme, health camps are organized through dedicated Mobile Medical Units in the slum areas of the city, so that people do not have to go to the hospital for treatment of minor ailments. Four mobile medical units are being operated in Ambikapur Municipal Corporation and one in Nagar Panchayat Sitapur and Lakhanpur.

On Wednesday, 49-year-old Arjun Singh reached the health camp organized at Babupara for his health check-up. He had complaints of pain in his hands and feet and blood pressure. The doctor present at MMU examined his health and provided him with syrup and tablets. Along with this, BP medicine was provided free of cost after his checkup. Singh said that he comes to MMU from time to time for doctor consultations and medicines. He has got relief from hefty medical and medicine bills. He expressed his gratitude towards Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel for the commencement of this scheme.

Municipal Corporation Commissioner Ms Pratishtha Mamgai said that till February 8, 2023, a total of 2 lakh 4 thousand 426 people have received free-of-cost treatment through MMU in urban areas in as many as 2765 health camps. Free-of-cost medicines were distributed to a total of 1 lakh 48 thousand 400 people and free medical tests of 40, 687 people were done.
