Chhattisgarh's ambitious Godhan Nyaya Yojana, which was commenced on the initiative of Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel, has given rise to an socio-economic revolution in the state with its launch. In a very short span of time, this scheme has proved its significance and attracted the attention of the whole country. This unique scheme has given people a source of additional income and also has given employment opportunities especially to rural women. It is noteworthy that the Chhattisgarh government is buying cow dung from cattle rearers under this scheme. Vermicompost is being made from the procured cow dung by self help groups of Gauthans . The positive impact of this public welfare scheme can be seen in the lives of numerous rural women. Similarly,the Swachh Manendragarh area level association are the direct witnesses of this change.
The turnover of the Swachh Manendragarh area level women association who are engaged in vermicompost manufacturing in the urban Gauthan of the Mahendragarh district headquarter under the state's new district Manendragarh-Chirmiri-Bharatpur has reached Rs 1 crore. With the launch of the scheme in the year 2020, the work of cow dung procurement was started in numerous Gauthans across the state. Today, 100312 quintal vermicompost amounting to Rs 1 crore 32 thousand has been sold by this association. In this, the net profit of the group is Rs 36.73 lakh.

Savita Das, a member of the Swachh Manendragarh Area Level Association of Mahendragarh development block which produces maximum vermicompost in the entire district, says that when the Godhan Nyaya Yojana was launched, they started the work of manufacturing vermicompost by joining the Gauthan of the city. She said that "As we started to make profit from production and sale, people's attitude towards us started changing. Through this scheme, many women have got means of self-employment and I have bought a two wheeler with the profit I got from the sale of vermicompost. Savita smiles and says that she comes to Gouthan in her two wheeler everyday.

Group's Vice President Premlata thanked the Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel for this important scheme. Group President Mrs. Preeti Toppo says that she had taken some loan for her sister's wedding. But she repaid that loan from the dividend she got and bought cycles for the children to go to school and also bought a TV set for the house. Earlier, the people of the house were a little angry because she was not able to give time at home, but now they are happy as she is earning a substantial income. Another member Augustina Ekka says that after the death of her husband, the family faced financial problems, but now she is working in Gauthan to support the family. She has a desire to have a two wheeler and hopes to get her own vehicle soon.
The way to self-reliance
There are 73 women in this group. That is, 73 women are directly associated with self-employment. In this Gauthan, some women associated with the work of vermicompost fertilizer production are from poor families, while some have never worked outside the house. Earning from this work has made them a strong pillar of their family and these women are creating milestones of self reliance constantly.
