So far, out of the total paddy purchase, DO has been issued for lifting of 88.25 lakh metric tonnes of paddy out of 103 lakh metric tonnes of paddy, against which about 80 lakh metric tonnes of paddy has been already lifted by millers.

It is worth noting that the number of registered farmers in the state  and area of farmers has increased continuously in the last four years due to the farmer friendly decisions of the state government. This year 24.97 lakh farmers have registered, out of which there are 2.30 lakh new farmers ,and 2617 paddy procurement centers have been set up in the state so that farmers should be able to sell paddy conveniently.

Food department officials also informed that on January 19, 78.21 thousand metric tonnes of paddy has been purchased from more than 19 thousand farmers. About 5 thousand tonnes of paddy has been purchased from farmers through online tokens.
