More than half of the Gauthans of the state are now procuring cow dung from their own resources
Chief Minister made an online transfer of Rs 7.83 crore as the 57th installment of Godhan Nyaya Yojana to the accounts of the beneficiaries

Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel said that Gauthans procuring dung with their own capital is a major sign of success for Godhan Nyay Yojana. More than half of the Gauthans in the rural areas of the state are procuring cow dung from their own resources, and do not need the funds from state government any more. Out of the Rs 4.62 crore paid to the cow dung vendors today, Rs 2.88 crore has been paid by 4270 self-supporting Gauthans and Rs 1.74 crore has been paid by the Agriculture Department. In the last fortnight, self-supporting Gauthans of the state have paid more amount against dung procurement than the Agriculture Department. So far, the self-supporting Gauthans of the state have procured dung worth Rs 29.61 crore from their own resources.
Chief Minister Mr. Baghel was addressing the virtual program organized at his residence office today for the transfer of funds to the beneficiaries of Godhan Nyaya Yojana. Chief Minister made an online payment of Rs 7 crore 83 lakh to the beneficiaries in the programme, for the cow dung procured from cattle rearers, villagers, farmers and landless people in Gauthans between November 16 and November 30. In lieu of cow dung, an amount of Rs 4 crore 62 lakh was transferred online to the accounts of dung vendors, Rs 1.28 crore was transferred to Gauthan committees and Rs 1.93 crore was transferred as dividend to the accounts of women groups. Agriculture Minister Mr. Ravindra Choubey, Advisor to Chief Minister Mr. Pradeep Sharma, Chief Secretary Mr. Amitabh Jain, Agriculture Production Commissioner Dr. Kamalpreet Singh, Managing Director of Godhan Nyay Mission Dr. Ayyaz Tamboli, Mission Director of State Rural Livelihood Mission Mr. Avnish Sharan, Mr. Gaurav Kumar Singh, Joint Secretary, Panchayat and Rural Development Department was also present.
Make a belller machine available to each of the Gauthans
On this occasion, Chief Minister said that the youth and women of the state are playing an important role in realizing the vision of 'Gadhbo Nava Chhattisgarh'. Youth and women are being included in the activities of Rural Industrial Parks, to provide them a good source of employment and income. Mr. Baghel said that the farmers should be encouraged to donate hay, as the arrangement of water and fodder in gauthans will prevent the cattle from roaming on the farms and roads. He instructed the officers to make belller machine available in gauthans for preparing para bundles. Chief Minister further said that the high on demand products should be prepared in Rural Industrial Park on a priority basis.
In this context, Chief Minister shared that during the Bhent-Mulaqat visit to Rajim assembly constituency, a woman told him that she has earned Rs 4 lakh by printing in sacks used for vermi compost. Mr. Baghel said that youth and women should be trained to prepare good products. He said that in the near future, Rural Industrial Park will become a strong foundation of our rural economy. Chief Minister said that the amount paid in lieu of cow dung is continuously increasing. People are taking care of cows, understanding the importance of cow dung and vermi compost. During the Bhent-Mulaqat visit, some Gothan committees had demanded construction of a shed so that they may conduct economic activities from their own funds.
Agriculture Minister Mr. Ravindra Choubey said that so far 11 thousand 252 Gauthans have been approved in the state, and construction of 9 thousand 619 of these Gauthans have been built. And 8440 of these Gauthans have been built in rural areas. Moreover, 4270 of these Gauthans have become self-supporting. The production and distribution of vermi compost is being done with the coordination of various departments. Soon, the production of vermi compost will be started on a large scale in Chhattisgarh. He said that RIPA's activities will be further expanded with the participation of youth.
Managing Director of Godhan Nyay Mission, Dr. Ayyaz Tamboli said that since the introduction of Godhan Nyay Yojana, Rs 188.45 crore has ben paid in lieu of dung procurement, and Gothan Committees and Women Self Help Groups have been paid an amount of Rs 170.05 crore as dividend. He informed that till now 19.82 lakh quintals of vermi compost has been produced in the gauthans and 16.24 lakh quintals of the vermi compost produced has been sold. Dr. Tamboli informed that so far 2.25 lakh quintals of hay has been received as donation in the gauthans.
