International day of persons with disabilities 2022: Empowerment of Divyangjans is being encouraged in Chhattisgarh

 The state government stands with every divyangjan in their happiness and sorrow: Mrs. Bhendia


Urban Administration Minister Dr. Dahria and Social Welfare Minister Smt. Bhendia gave state level awards to Divyangjan in 8 categories

Durg district, 3 disabled employees and 4 voluntary organizations recieved state level honors for their excellent work.

On the occasion of International Day of Persons with Disabilities on December 3,an event was organized by the Social Welfare Department under the chairmanship of Urban Administration and Development Minister Dr. Shivkumar Dahria, Chief Hospitality and Social Welfare Minister Mrs. Anila Bhendia at Jora Ground in the capital Raipur.

 In this cermenony,Divyangjans were given state level awards in 8 different categories for excellent work and 20 Divyangjans were provided state-of-the-art artificial bionic hands, and artificial legs free of cost. Durg district was awarded the State Level Award 2022 in the best district category for its excellent work for the welfare of the divyangjans. Durg Collector Shri Pushpendra Meena received a shield, certificate and citation in the ceremony. The guests also inaugurated the helpline center for the elderly, disabled and transgender community. After which,the interim data collection booklet of the door-to-door survey of Divyangjans was released. On this occasion, Parliamentary Secretary Mrs. Ambika Singhdeo, Chairman of Chhattisgarh Yoga Commission Mr. Gyanesh Sharma, Raipur Mayor Mr. Aijaz Dhebar, District Panchayat President Mrs. Domeshwari Verma, Secretary of Social Welfare Department Mr. Bhuvnesh Yadav, Director Mr. Ramesh Kumar Verma and departmental officers along with employees Divyangjan and their relatives were present.

2022: Empowerment
Urban Administration Minister Dr. Dahria said that we need to look into different and new ways to deal with the challenges of disability. Empowerment of Divyang is being encouraged by the state government. He further said that by economically strengthening the divyangjans,great progressive work of development can be done for them.

Social Welfare Minister Smt. Bhendia  said that the state government stands with every disabled person in their happiness and sorrow. Under the guidance of Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel, many works are being done for the disabled,in Chhattisgarh, 7 percent reservation has been given in jobs for the disabled. Along with this, a large number of Divyangs have also been placed in jobs in the state, which has also been appreciated by the Centre.

On this occasion, the guests also observed the paintings, artistic items and decorative items prepared by the differently-abled children.  They also presented a colorful program. Dr. Pasha Guruji's team from Bangalore presented a classical dance performance on a wheelchair. The special thing about this dance is that its dancers were deaf, but they gave an mesmerizing  presentation on the tune of the music.

  Every year on the occasion of International Day of Persons with Disabilities, the organization and district and the best Divyang employees doing excellent work in the field of Divyangjan are honored with state level awards. This year, Mr. Kamlesh Kumar Sahu of Janjgir-Champa district, Mr. Rajkumar Verma of Bilaspur district in hearing impaired category, Mr. Ramkumar Sonkar of Bemetara district in orthopedically impaired category were awarded to the best disabled employee. For the best voluntary organization, Fortune Foundation Pretendih of Mahasamund district was awarded in the visually impaired category, Pragya Karna Deaf School and Hostel in Raipur district was awarded for the hearing impaired category, Greenbook Education and Environment Welfare Society of Kanker district in the orthopedically impaired category /Ankur Sanstha of Korba district was awarded the State Level Award for Divyangjan in the category of Handicapped Home for people with cerebral palsy.
