On the instructions of the Chief Minister, construction of roads and bridges is being done to improve public transport

 Administrative approval of Rs 5680 crore received for 520 works of roads and bridges


The work of construction of roads and bridges is going on across the state on a war footing

On the instructions of Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel, the construction of roads and bridges is being done to improve the public transport in Chhattisgarh. Under this, the state government has issued administrative approval of Rs 5680 crore for a total of 520 works for strengthening the means of transport in all the districts of Chhattisgarh under Chhattisgarh Road and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited.

Under this, administrative approval of Rs 4891 crore has been given for 429 important roads of 3110 km. length and Rs 788 crore for the construction works of 91 high-level bridges. Under this, tenders for works worth Rs 5460 crore have been approved for a total of 492 works so far.

According to the information received from Chhattisgarh Road and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited, an expenditure of Rs 1109 crore has been made so far on the construction works. Presently all the works are in progress and will be completed, ensuring its high quality, within the stipulated time frame.

As per the instructions of Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel, the work of filling potholes and repair of roads is going on in the state on a war footing. An amount of Rs 160 crore has been approved for the repair and restoration of 352 roads (1258 km length) under the project circles Bilaspur, Mungeli, Korba and Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi districts of Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana.

Under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, approval of Rs 78 crore 97 lakh 8028 has been granted for renovation work of a total of 67 roads (252.975 km length) in Kabirdham district for the year 2022-23. Asphalt laying work has been started from Kabirdham to the famous Bhoramdev temple approach road (16 km) at a cost of about Rs 9 crore 60 lakh 24 thousand which will be completed by the month of December.

Similarly, the work of road construction, repair and asphalt laying is going on in the entire state on a war footing. As per the instructions of Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel, the collectors of all the districts are personally inspecting these works and checking the quality of roads and bridges on the spot so that the people of the state can get better transportation facilities.
