Raipur : Chief Minister Mr.Bhupesh Baghel unveiled the bronze statue of Chhattisgarh Mahtari built by Raipur Smart City Limited at Collectorate Chowk this evening. On this occasion, he said that Chhattisgarh Mahtari is a symbol of our state's pride, honour and self-respect. The statue has been installed to promote the tradition and folk culture of Chhattisgarh’s soil. He said that the state government has decided to install the statues of Chhattisgarh Mahtari in all districts. “Our government is paying special attention to promote traditional festivals, sports, art and culture of the state”, he added.
It is noteworthy that the bronze statue of Chhattisgarh Mahtari is 11 feet long and weighs 1200 kg. It was constructed by Padmashree Awardee J.M. Nelson, a resident of Bhilai and the country's famous sculptor artist within just a month. The structural base of this statue has been prepared by the architect of Raipur, Mr. Manish Pillaiwar. This statue has been constructed by Raipur Smart City Limited and Municipal Corporation Raipur under the guidance of District Administration, Raipur.
Agriculture Minister and District In-charge Minister Mr.Ravindra Choubey, Urban Administration Minister Dr. Shivkumar Dahariya, MLA Mr.Kuldeep Juneja, Mayor Mr.Aijaz Dhebar, MLA Mr.Satyanarayan Sharma, Collector Dr. Sarveshwar Narendra Bhure, Senior Superintendent of Police Prashant Kumar Agarwal, MD of Smart City Limited Raipur and Municipal Corporation Raipur Commissioner Mayank Chaturvedi and concerned officers-employees and other public representatives were present on the occasion.
