Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel met the heads of various communities and representatives of social organizations at the rest house in Shivrinarayan Nagar of Janjgir-Champa district late on Wednesday, as a part of his statewide 'Bhent-Mulaqat Abhiyan'.

On this occasion, the Other Backward Classes organization honored the Chief Minister by weighing him against Chhattisgarhi delicacies including 'Thethri-Khurmi'. A photograph was presented to the Chief Minister on behalf of the Aushadhi Vikreta Sangh. The representatives of Satnami Samaj Nawagarh and Pamgarh congratulated Shri Baghel and gave him best wishes for becoming India's Best Performing Chief Minister in the nationwide survey.

Meanwhile, the Chief Minister approved a financial grant of Rs 1.60 crore on the demand of representatives of various social organizations. He gave instructions to build a library in Shivrinarayan and name it after novelist Thakur Jagmohan Singh. The Chief Minister said that Thakur Jagmohan Singh was a famous novelist as well as a Tehsildar of Shivrinarayan. He directed the Collector to inspect the place and prepare an estimate for installation of the statue of Maharana Pratap at Janjgir by Thakur Samaj.

In the programme, the Chief Minister also approved a grant of Rs 20 lakh to the Sikh community for the construction of Dharamshala in the Gurudwara of Pamgarh block besides approving construction of Ghat. Similarly, an amount of Rs 15 lakh was sanctioned for construction of the community hall of Swarnakar Samaj and Rs.25 lakh to Nayak Banjara Samaj for community hall construction. Similarly, Rs 20 lakh for upgradation of Dharamshala of Kesharwani Samaj, Rs 10 lakh each for construction of additional room in Dharamshala of Devangan Samaj in Rahod and Shakambhari Bhawan in Kesla, Rs 25 lakh each for construction of community hall in Shivrinarayan on the demand of Satnami Samaj and for hostel building of Kenwat Nishad Samaj. Besides, Rs 10 lakhs was sanctioned to Satguru Seva Samiti Pamgarh for cultural building and stage construction.

MLA Pamgarh Smt. Indu Banjare, Chhattisgarh Tourism Board President Shri Atal Shrivastava and other public representatives and officials were also present on the occasion.

Meanwhile, Shri Baghel also gave his nod for renaming Parshuram Chowk and beautification of the fair site by Guru Ghasidas Satganwa Mela Committee. Approval was given for the repair of the building and school of Yadav Samaj and construction of Muktidham for Sarathi Samaj. On the demand of Kurmi Samaj, he instructed the officers concerned to take necessary action to make Sardar Patel Chowk and upgrade Rahaud as a tehsil.
