Raipur : Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai announced development works worth Rs. 100 crore for Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi (GPM) district during the Arpa Mahotsav and the sixth Foundation Day celebrations of the district. Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister stated that every possible effort would be made to ensure the “integrated and balanced development” of the district. On this occasion, he also made several important announcements, including the inclusion of the GPM district under the Mukhyamantri Bus Seva Yojana.

During the programme, Chief Minister Shri Sai extended his blessings to 300 newly married couples under Mukhyamantri Kanya Vivah Yojana, wishing them a happy and prosperous married life.

Conveying his best wishes on the occasion of Arpa Mahotsav, the Chief Minister stated that the inauguration and foundation-laying of development works worth over Rs. 100 crore would give fresh momentum to the district’s overall progress. He stated that the construction of a 19-kilometre road from Pendra Road to Amarkantak would significantly improve connectivity. At the same time, the development of the Kevchi route would open new avenues for tourism growth in the region.

The Chief Minister noted that a total of 6,414 marriages were solemnised across the state on the same day, calling it a historic moment that has been recorded in the Golden Book of World Records. He emphasised that the Mukhyamantri Kanya Vivah Yojana is a significant initiative aimed at ensuring the dignity of daughters and securing their future.

On the occasion, Chief Minister Shri Sai announced the approval of a high-level rest house in Nagar Panchayat Marwahi, the inclusion of GPM district in the Mukhyamantri Bus Seva Yojana, the construction of a grand auditorium at the district headquarters, and the building of a stop dam at the Samdalai tourist site. During the programme, cheques and materials were distributed to beneficiaries of various government schemes, and land ownership certificates were provided to 435 farmers under the SVAMITVA Yojana. The Chief Minister also visited and reviewed all the stalls showcasing public welfare schemes at the venue.
As part of the event, the Chief Minister released a booklet highlighting the district’s development works. A video depicting the district's tourism potential and its two-year development journey was also screened. The programme was attended by Women and Child Development Minister Smt Laxmi Rajwade, MLAs Shri Pranav Kumar Marpachchi, Shri Atal Shrivastava, Shri Anuj Sharma and Shri Motilal Sahu, Zila Panchayat President Smt. Sameera Paikra, along with other public representatives, officials and a large number of citizens.
