 Pround moment for Chhattisgarh: two national awards conferred on the state under PM Awas Yojana


Chhattisgarh awarded in Best Community Oriented Projects and Best Performing Nagar Panchayat category at the Indian Urban Housing Conclave

Chhattisgarh is being recognized and appreciated at national level for its various achievements and innovations in the fields of education, health, nutrition, agriculture and farmer welfare, infrastructure etc, under the leadership of Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel.  This time, Chhattisgarh has received two prestigious awards under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Award 2021 at the Indian Urban Housing Conclave being organized by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India from 19 to 21 October 2022 in Rajkot, Gujarat. These awards have been conferred upon Chhattisgarh in the category of Best Community Oriented Projects and Best Performing Nagar Panchayat.
It is worth mentioning that on Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel's initiative, Mor Zameen-Mor Makaan Yojana was started in Chhattisgarh. After integration of this scheme under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) and convergence of 19 other central and state sponsored schemes, 61 leprosy affected families residing in Asha Nagar of Rajnandgaon Municipal Corporation were provided well-equipped pucca houses. This has brought significant improvement in the living standard of these families. Likewise, in Nagar Panchayat Gandai and Antagarh, special category beneficiaries were also provided with pucca housing and efforts were made to improve their lifestyle. 
These efforts and initiatives being taken in Chhattisgarh for social upliftment have been recognized at the national-level and the state has been awarded for its outstanding performance in the category of 'Best Community Oriented Projects' for social upliftment projects. Nagar Panchayat Patan of Chhattisgarh has secured third rank in the 'Best Performing Nagar Panchayat' for its excellent works of providing housing to the beneficiaries on time and for construction of a large number of well-furnished houses under Mor Zameen-Mor Makaan scheme of Prime Minister's Housing Scheme (Urban). It is noteworthy that in the last four and a half years, Chhattisgarh has received many awards from the Government of India for better implementation of various schemes and welfare policies in the state.
