Chief Minister remembers martyr Mahendra Karma on his birth anniversary

Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel has remembered the former minister and popular leader Late Mr. Mahendra Karma on his birth anniversary on 5th August. Remembering his contributions towards the state , Mr. Baghel  said that Mr. Mahendra Karma was known as Bastar Tiger, because he used to speak vigorously for tribal rights and used to stand with tribals in every situation. Late Mr. Karma fought for the betterment of tribals till the last moment of his life. He was not just a politician, but also a very sensitive, aware and passionate person. Mr. Baghel further said "It was my privilege to have found such a selfless person and a transparent friend like him. Chhattisgarh will not forget his martyrdom in the Jhiram Ghati Naxal attack."

Mr. Baghel said that  Mr. Karma  took important responsibilities as a Leader of Opposition and Minister in Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly and made his invaluable contribution towards the development of Chhattisgarh. In order to make the memories of Mr. Mahendra Karma lasting, the State Government has named Bastar University after him and a social security scheme namely 'Shaheed Mahendra Karma Tendu Patta Sangrahak samajik Yojna' has been started for the tendu patta collecting families of the state in his name. Mr. Baghel said that Mr. Karma's thoughts and values ​​of life will always inspire us.
