 In the first phase, the 'Nyay Rath' will tour nine districts of the state, starting from Durg district

 Today, on the occasion of Hareli Tihaar', Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel flagged off Mukhyamantri Mahtari Nyay Rath from his Raipur based residence, and conveyed his best wishes for the success of the initiative. The program was commenced with the State Song of Chhattisgarh. Rath Yatra was flagged off with the slogan of "Baat He Abhimaan Ke, Mahila Man Ke Samman Ke". Chhattisgarh State Commission for Women has taken this initiative of Nyay Rath Yatra with the aim of making women of the state aware of their constitutional rights and laws.
Chief Minister Mr. Baghel also administered the oath of ensuring security, justice and empowerment of women. On this occasion, Women and Child Development Minister Mrs. Anila Bhendia, Industries Minister Mr. Kawasi Lakhma, Food Minister Mr. Amarjeet Bhagat, Forest Minister Mr. Mohammad Akbar, Chairperson of Chhattisgarh State Women Commission Dr. Kiranmayi Nayak, Gauseva Commission Chairman Mahant Shri Ram Sundar Das, MLA Mr. Satyanarayan Sharma, Chairman of State Food Supply Corporation Mr. Ram Gopal Agrawal and a large number of people were present.

Under this initiative of Chhattisgarh Women Commission for women empowerment, Mukhyamantri Mahtari Nyay Rath Yatra will go from village to village in all the districts to create mass awareness about the legal provisions and constitutional rights of women. The Information regarding women's right and concerning laws will be spread through short films, messages and brochures. In the first phase, the Rath will cover nine districts of the state, starting from Durg. Through this Rath Yatra, women will also be provided free legal aid. Each Mahatari Nyay Rath will have two advocates, who will listen to the grievances of women and counsel them. Women will also be able to submit their applications to State Women Commission through Nyay Rath. National award-winning short films in Chhattisgarhi and Hindi, based on various laws, will be screened on large LED screens during the Rath Yatra. State government has made special changes in the DMF policy, to operate Mahtari Nyay Rath under DMF.

Chairperson of Chhattisgarh Women Commission Dr. Kiranmayi Nayak said that it is very important for all the women, educated-uneducated, housewives-working, to be aware of the functions of the Women's Commission, to be informed about the laws and rules, and to have the knowledge of their rights. And with an aim to make women of the state aware and informed in the context, Chhattisgarh Women Commission has started Mahtari Nyay Rath Yatra from the day of Hareli Tihar. With the help of Mahatari Nyay Rath, women will be informed about the process of applying to the Commission for redressal of their problems and for free legal aid. Women Commission has already issued WhatsApp number 9098382225, on which women can register their complaints with the Commission.

Dr. Nayak said that in the last three and a half years, state government has implemented many schemes to empower the mothers and sisters of Chhattisgarh socially, economically and politically. The success of these schemes has become an example for the entire country. Now, moving a step further, Chhattisgarh Government has come up with another one-of-its-kind scheme to boost confidence of women by making them aware of their legal rights. This scheme will play an important role in controlling the crimes against women in the state.

Nine districts of the state to be covered in the first phase of Rath Yatra

Mukhyamantri Mahtari Nyay Rath will initially tour nine districts of the state that receive the Mineral Trust fund, i.e. Durg, Raipur, Rajnandgaon, Balodabazar-Bhatapara, Mahasamund, Janjgir-Champa, Gariaband, Dhamtari, Kanker. Later, Nyay Rath Yatra will cover remaining districts of the state.
