Women Self-help Groups and Co-operative Committees will be given bonus for the sale of Vermicompost
On the second anniversary of the Godhan Nyay Scheme, the Chief Minister transferred an amount of Rs. 7.48 crore to the accounts of the beneficiaries
Rs. 153.44 Crore have been paid to cattle ranchers and villagers in exchange of cow dung

The Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel said that the purchase of cow urine along with cow dung will commence from 28 July on the occasion of Hareli as an extension of the Godhan Nyay Scheme. A rate of Rs. 4 per litre has been proposed for the purchase of cow urine. The purchased cow urine will be utilized for the manufacture of Jeevamrit pesticides and manure. This will promote the practice of organic farming in the state and will also increase the earnings of cattle ranchers.
The Chief Minister on the occasion of the second anniversary of the Godhan Nyay Scheme transferred an amount of Rs. 7 Crore 48 lakh as the 48th installment to the accounts of the beneficiaries through online medium in his office located in the Vidhansabha premises. He expressed his views on this subject during the programme.
The Chief Minister, while addressing the programme, said that women self-help groups and co-operative committees will be given bonuses for the sale of Vermicompost. Orders have been issued in this regard. Women self-help groups will be given a bonus of Rs. 1 for the sale of one Kg. of Vermicompost while co-operative committees will be given a bonus of 10 paise for the sale of 1 kg. of Vermicompost. The Chief Minister said that women groups will be given Rs. 17 crore 64 lakh while co-operative committees will be given Rs. 1 Crore 76 lakh for the sale of Vermicompost till 7 July 2022 as an incentive amount.
The amount transferred by the Chief Minister to the accounts of the beneficiaries of the Godhan Nyay Scheme includes the amount of Rs. 2.69 Crore for the sale of cow dung from the cattle ranchers, villagers, landless farmers of the Gauthans of the state, and a dividend amount of Rs. 2.88 Crore to Gauthan Committees and Rs. 1.91 Crore to women self-help groups respectively. In exchange of the purchase of cow dung, a total of Rs. 153.44 Crore has been paid till now, including the amount paid today. In this way, under the scheme, an amount of Rs. 147.99 Crore have been paid to women self-help groups and Gauthan committees.
Agriculture Minister Mr. Ravindra Choubey, Forest Minister Mr. Mohammad Akbar, Industries Minister Mr. Kawasi Lakhma, Culture Minister Mr. Amarjeet Bhagat, Urban Development Minister Dr. Shiv Kumar Dahariya, Chief Minister’s Advisors Mr. Vinod Verma and Mr. Ruchir Garg, Chief Secretary Mr. Amitabh Jain, Chief Minister’s Additional Chief Secretary Mr. Subrat Sahoo, Agriculture Production Commissioner Dr. Kamal Preet Singh, Godhan Nyay Mission Managing Director Dr. Ayaz Tamboli and Chief Minister’s Secretary Mr. Siddharth Komal Singh Pardeshi were also present in the programme.
Congratulating all the beneficiaries of the scheme and the people of the state on the completion of two years of Godhan Nyay Yojana, the Chief Minister said the state government started procurement of cow dung from July 20, 2020 on the occasion of ‘Hareli’ festival. The success that this scheme has achieved in just 02 years is being appreciated all over the country. Following our footsteps, many states of the country have implemented similar schemes. In addition to production of vermi compost, work is also being done for production of electricity and manufacturing natural paint using the cow dung purchased under this scheme. Chief Minister said that Godhan Nyay Yojana has proven to be beneficial for promoting women’s economic empowerment and helping women associated with Self Help Groups become self-reliant. The cow dung vendors and Gauthan committees have also earned good income in these two years. Besides, it has given a major boost to draw interest of farmers towards animal husbandry. Nearly, 13 thousand 969 women self-help groups have earned an income of Rs 74 crore 68 lakh so far from various livelihood activities conducted in Gauthans. Under this scheme, processing units like oil mill and pulse mill are being set up in Gauthans. As many as 227 oil mills and 251 pulse mills are being set up in Gauthans of the state. Out of these, 86 oil mills and 134 pulse mills have already been established.
Addressing the programme, Agriculture Minister Mr. Ravindra Choubey said that today Godhan Nyay Yojana has completed its two years and its scope has also been expanded. Continuous monitoring of the scheme is being done. Villagers, cattle rearers, women self-help groups have got new means of income and employment through this scheme. A total of 8 thousand 408 Gauthans have been established under the scheme so far. More than 30 quintals of cow dung has been procured from 01 to 15 July in nearly 1456 Gauthans. Agriculture Production Commissioner Dr. Kamal Preet Singh in his address gave detailed information about the progress of the scheme.
