Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai Visits Chhattisgarh Pavilion at the International Trade Fair

Handicrafts, Forest Products and Traditional Art Draw Attention of Buyers from India and Abroad

Raipur : The Chhattisgarh Pavilion remained a major attraction on Monday at the International Trade Fair being held at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai visited the Chhattisgarh Pavilion and took a walkthrough of the various stalls. Praising the products and innovations displayed at the pavilion, he said that Chhattisgarh is continuously establishing a strong presence on global trade platforms.

Chief Minister Shri Sai said that Chhattisgarh’s traditional art, handicrafts, forest-produce-based items and traditional crafts are making a distinct mark in the global market. He said, “The growing demand for Chhattisgarhi products among buyers in India and abroad is strengthening the local economy and giving new recognition to our artisans. These are important steps towards our resolve of building an ‘Atmanirbhar Chhattisgarh’.”

He appreciated the ‘kosa’ silk, metal craft, ‘Dokra’ art, natural forest-based products, millet-based food products and innovative models of micro-enterprises displayed at the pavilion.

The Chief Minister also appreciated the display showcasing Bastar’s rich heritage and artworks. After watching the documentary ‘Badalta Bastar (Aamcho Bastar)’ broadcast on the digital TV at the pavilion, he said that the documentary clearly reflects the progressive and new Bastar of today. Bastar has changed, and the documentary presents a vivid glimpse of this transformation. The Chief Minister added that the state government is continuously strengthening various schemes and institutional support to take tribal and rural products to national and international markets.

On the occasion, Industries Minister Shri Lakhan Lal Dewangan, Lok Sabha MP Shri Brijmohan Agrawal, Smt. Kamlesh Jangde and other public representatives and officials were present.
