Raipur : Fifty-five-year-old Ankush Dewangan from Bhilai astonished everyone with his extraordinary micro-art during the 'Jandarshan' programme, where he presented Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai with a framed marble sculpture of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, believed to be the world’s smallest statue. The frame also features a miniature replica of the newly constructed Shri Ramlala Temple in Ayodhya. The artwork, equipped with a microscopic lens, reveals even the Prime Minister’s smile and hair strands when viewed closely.
Chief Minister Shri Sai admired the creation, calling it “a symbol of devotion and patience,” and praised Dewangan for beautifully expressing his reverence for the Prime Minister through art. Chief Minister Shri Sai proposed organizing a state-level exhibition of Dewangan’s work, affirming that encouraging such artists is the government’s responsibility.
An Administrative Assistant at Bhilai Steel Plant, Dewangan has been crafting miniatures since childhood. It took him two months to carve the half-centimetre-tall statue, working by day and sculpting by night. “Modi ji fulfilled the dream of building the Ram Temple, so I placed both in one frame,” he said. The Chief Minister has decided to place the artwork in his office, while Dewangan now plans to create the world’s smallest replica of the Ram Setu.
