Raipur : Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai today addressed a gathering at the Mantralaya Mahanadi Bhawan on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the national song “Vande Mataram.”
In his remarks, the Chief Minister drew from the Valmiki Ramayana, citing the verse “Janani Janmabhoomishcha Swargadapi Gariyasi” — “The mother and the motherland are greater than heaven itself.” He said that the land which gives us birth, nurtures us, and shapes our identity deserves our highest form of service. “Serving our motherland,” he emphasized, “is not merely through words of praise, but through the conscientious and devoted performance of our duties. That alone is the truest form of worship.”
Chief Minister Sai added that just as an offering (dakshina) completes any act of worship, so too must devotion to Bharat Mata be accompanied by action. Referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a ‘Developed India by 2047,’ he urged every officer, employee, and public representative of Chhattisgarh to perform their responsibilities with complete dedication and honesty. “This,” he said, “will be our most meaningful offering — our supreme dakshina — to our motherland and a reflection of true patriotism.”
