Announces renaming of Bhawani Temple site as ‘Kaushalya Dham’

Raipur : On a one-day visit to Korba district, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai participated in the Shri Ram Katha Mahotsav held at the Bhawani Temple premises in Korba city. He paid respects to Jagadguru Shri Shri 1008 Ramabhadracharya, who had come to deliver the Ram Katha discourse, and received his blessings, praying for the peace and prosperity of the people of Chhattisgarh.

Addressing the devotees present, Chief Minister Shri Sai extended greetings on the occasion of Navratri and Dussehra. He said the arrival of the Jagadguru had sanctified the land of Korba, the energy capital of the state, and that his blessings would always remain with the people.

Shri Sai underlined that Chhattisgarh’s sacred soil is the maternal home of Mata Kaushalya and the nanihal (maternal grandparents’ home) of Lord Shri Ram. During their exile, Shri Ram, Mata Sita, and brother Lakshman had spent most of their time in this very region.

Chief Minister Shri  Sai said that under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, “Modi’s Guarantees” are being implemented rapidly in Chhattisgarh. He asserted that in the coming days, the state would emerge as a developed Chhattisgarh. He further recalled the resolve made under Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah’s leadership to eradicate Naxalism from the country by March 31, 2026, and noted that sustained efforts are being made in this direction. He praised the bravery of security personnel who are fighting Naxals with courage and achieving consistent success.

He added that through the Shri Ramlala Darshan Yojana, thousands of devotees are being given the opportunity to have darshan of Lord Ram at Ayodhya Dham.

On the occasion, Shri Sai announced that the Bhawani Temple site would be renamed as Kaushalya Dham.

At the newly built Kaushalya Dham Temple, the Chief Minister performed rituals and prayed for the happiness, peace, and prosperity of the state. Amid Vedic chants, he offered shreephal, flowers, sandalwood, and fruits to the idol of Mata Bhawani and performed aarti. He then bowed before the idol of Mata Kaushalya, depicted holding child Ram in her lap — the main attraction of the temple. The Chief Minister inspected the temple premises, praised the construction work, and interacted warmly with devotees present there. Local residents and public representatives extended him a heartfelt welcome.

CM also attends Ramleela Mahotsav at Open Theatre Ground

During his Korba tour, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai also participated in the Ramleela Mahotsav at the Ghantaghar Open Theatre Ground. He extended warm greetings of Navratri to the townspeople and prayed for happiness, peace, and prosperity in everyone’s life.

He said Navratri is a festival of devotion, power, and harmony, celebrated through the worship of the nine forms of the Goddess. Congratulating the organizing committee for the successful conduct of the Ramleela, he said the traditional performance is a powerful medium to convey the values and ideals of Lord Ram to the masses. With visible emotion, he recalled how watching Ramleela had refreshed childhood memories for him.

At the event, the Chief Minister and other guests were welcomed with a replica of Ram Darbar, shawls, and shreephal (coconut).

Also present on the occasion were Industries Minister Shri Lakhan Lal Dewangan, Public Health and Family Welfare Minister Shri Shyam Bihari Jaiswal, Mayor Smt. Sanju Devi Rajput, along with local public representatives, officials, and a large number of devotees.
