Raipur : Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai today performed the bhoomipujan of development works worth ₹66.84 crore, including a railway overbridge, at Kharsia in Raigarh district. On this occasion, he also announced new projects worth over ₹20 crore. These include ₹10 crore for the construction of a bypass road from Kabir Chowk to Dabhra Road in Kharsia, ₹2 crore for renovation of sports complexes and swimming pools, and ₹8 crore for other municipal development works.

CM Sai unveiled the statue of former Prime Minister and Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee in Kharsia and inaugurated the Atal Parisar. He also announced that a technical survey would be conducted for the construction of a railway underbridge.
The Chief Minister said his association with Raigarh was like that of a family spanning 20 years. He said the recent victories in urban local body elections were the result of the Atal Vishwas Patra. “Seven to eight thousand crore rupees worth of works have been sanctioned for urban development. Every single announcement made in the Atal Vishwas Patra is being fulfilled. Most of Modi ji’s guarantees have already been delivered,” he said.

Highlighting welfare measures, CM Sai said that 70 lakh women were receiving ₹1,000 every month under the Mahatari Vandan Yojana, 18 lakh houses had been sanctioned under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, paddy was being procured at ₹3,100 per quintal, the procurement rate of tendu leaves had been raised from ₹4,000 to ₹5,500, and more than 5.62 lakh landless agricultural labourers were being provided annual assistance of ₹10,000. He added that Atal Digital Seva Kendras were expanding banking and government services to villages. “So far, 1,460 panchayats have operational centres where not just cash transactions but also income, land, caste and residence certificates can be obtained locally. During the silver jubilee year, 4,000 panchayats will have Atal Digital Seva Kendras,” he announced.

Chief Minister Shri Sai said that the PSC scam in Chhattisgarh was under CBI investigation. “Corruption-free governance is our goal, good governance is our pledge. Every path of corruption is being closed one by one. The initiative for the railway overbridge was taken during my tenure as MP. With all formalities now completed, its bhoomipujan has been held today. Construction will be completed in the next two to three years,” he added.
Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao said the government was working with a commitment to carry forward development in the state. “The construction of the railway overbridge was a pressing need for Kharsia city. The bhoomipujan of this ₹64.94 crore project reaffirms our commitment. Once completed, it will resolve the commuting problems caused by passing trains at crossings and also save time,” he said.
Finance Minister O.P. Choudhary said that under CM Vishnu Deo Sai’s leadership, Chhattisgarh had made rapid progress over the past 20 months. “Thirteen lakh farmers have been given ₹3,716 crore as two years’ bonus. Chhattisgarh is the only state procuring paddy at ₹3,100 per quintal. In its very first Cabinet meeting, the government sanctioned 18 lakh houses for those left out of the PM Awas Yojana. The responsibility of ready-to-eat meals has been handed back to women’s self-help groups. The programme has already begun from Raigarh district and will soon expand to all districts,” he said.
Choudhary added that the inauguration of the Atal Parisar was a tribute to former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee, the architect of the state. He also said, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi has fulfilled the centuries-old dream of building a Ram temple in Ayodhya, which became possible after 500 years. For devotees of Chhattisgarh, the Shri Ramlala Ayodhya Dham Darshan Yojana has been launched. Along with this, reforms in IT and GST by the Prime Minister have enhanced the purchasing power of people.”
The event was also attended by Women and Child Development Minister Laxmi Rajwade, Rajya Sabha MP Devendra Pratap Singh, Kharsia Municipal Council Chairman Kamal Garg, Vice-Chairman Avadhnarayan (Bunty) Soni, along with several public representatives and a large number of citizens.
