Navgurukul: A modern initiative for girls’ education and value-based upbringing

Raipur : Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai today inaugurated the Navgurukul at Garh Umaria village under Kharsia tehsil in Raigarh district during his visit to the region. On the occasion, he distributed laptops to newly enrolled girl students, encouraging them to move ahead with confidence and extended his best wishes for their bright future.

Chief Minister Shri Sai inspected the newly established modern computer lab at Navgurukul and instructed the teachers to impart high-quality education along with value-based teachings so that the girls can build a bright and successful future.

Addressing the inauguration ceremony, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai first extended greetings on the occasions of Ganeshotsav, Teachers’ Day, and the Chakradhar Samaroh. He said that a teacher is a true nation-builder and hence deserves the highest respect in society. Recalling the state’s commitment to education, Chief Minister Shri Sai mentioned that last year, at the conclusion of the Chakradhar Samaroh, Prayas Vidyalaya was inaugurated in Raigarh, and today the establishment of Navgurukul further strengthens this chain of initiatives. He lauded Finance Minister O. P. Choudhary, Navgurukul’s co-founder Ms. Nidhi, and her team for this innovative effort and congratulated all the girls present, wishing them success in life.

Chief Minister Shri  Sai underlined that the state government is consistently working towards creating employment opportunities for the youth. Alongside government recruitments in departments such as Police, Cooperatives, Tribal Welfare, and Irrigation, the government has also introduced a new industrial policy to boost private sector jobs, ensuring broad benefits for the youth of Chhattisgarh. He made special mention of the Navgurukul institution’s effort in facilitating placements for 150 girls from Jashpur district and appreciated the initiative, urging the institution to expand such noble work further.

On this occasion, Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao also extended his greetings and congratulated the students. He said that the 120 girls who secured admission to the institution through an entrance process are a testament to their merit and hard work. He motivated the students by stating that to move forward in life, one needs confidence, energy, passion, determination, and relentless effort. “There is no place for despair in life, as no individual can progress with a mindset of despair,” he emphasized, encouraging the girls to pursue success with positivity and resilience.

Finance Minister O. P. Choudhary, in his address, highlighted that since the formation of the current government, development works have been taking place continuously across the state. He congratulated everyone on the inauguration of Navgurukul, describing the institution as an initiative well aligned with the needs of the present time. He stressed that Navgurukul works with dedication for the empowerment of girls. The Minister also informed that a Nalanda campus is being constructed in Raigarh district at a cost of ₹35 crore. He expressed confidence that this, along with institutions like Navgurukul, will prepare the girls to progress with modern skills in line with technological changes and contemporary needs.

Women and Child Development Minister Mrs. Laxmi Rajwade also addressed the gathering, urging the students to embrace education in tune with changing technology and evolving times, so that they can advance successfully in life.

Navgurukul’s co-founder Ms. Nidhi elaborated on the educational model and training process of the Gurukul, stating that the objective of the institution is not only to impart technical education but also to make the girls self-reliant and capable of excelling in every field of life.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by former MLA Vijay Agrawal, Shri Gurupal Bhalla, Collector Mayank Chaturvedi, District Panchayat CEO Jitendra Yadav, several public representatives, dignitaries, and a large number of students. All participants hailed the establishment of Navgurukul as a historic step for the region and described it as a milestone in the path of girls’ development and empowerment.
