Teeja Milan at Revenue Minister’s residence resonates with songs, music and folk dance
Raipur : Festivals in the months of Sawan and Bhadon hold special significance in Chhattisgarh. In this spirit, a grand Teeja Milan was organised today at the residence of Revenue Minister Tank Ram Verma. The event showcased the rich hues of Chhattisgarhi culture, tradition, music and folk dance. Women, adorned in traditional attire, created a joyous atmosphere with their melodious folk songs.

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai described Teeja Milan as a symbol of unity and cultural identity. He said Teeja is a festival of faith and devotion for the women of Chhattisgarh. On this day, women observe fasts for the long life of their husbands and the prosperity of their families. “Our folk traditions bind society together, and this is our cultural heritage,” he said. The Chief Minister further added that festivals such as Kajli Ekadashi are not only of religious importance but also convey the message of fraternity and unity. He emphasised that the guiding spirit for the state’s development remains Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas.

Speaker Dr. Raman Singh said that the identity of Chhattisgarh is deeply rooted in its folk culture and festivals. He added that women here are not only nurturing families and society, but are also bringing glory to the state through their contributions in education, politics, service, and every other field. He lauded women as custodians of culture and praised their invaluable role.

Revenue Minister Tank Ram Verma said that today’s Teeja Milan brought alive the confluence of culture and tradition of the state. He observed that women keep fasts for the long life of their husbands, and Teeja becomes a festival that refreshes their cherished memories of their maternal homes.
At the Teeja Milan, traditional Chhattisgarhi delicacies were served. The folk dances and songs filled the atmosphere with cheer. Women exchanged greetings and wished each other on the occasion. The event symbolised that Chhattisgarh’s culture and traditions continue to strengthen the fabric of society. Teeja is not merely a festival, but a living embodiment of women’s strength, cultural heritage, and social unity.
The programme was attended by cabinet members—Tribal Development and Agriculture Minister Ram Vichar Netam, Food and Consumer Protection Minister Dayal Das Baghel, Forest and Cooperation Minister Kedar Kashyap, Commerce and Industry Minister Lakhan Lal Devangan, Public Health Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal, Women and Child Development Minister Laxmi Rajwade, School Education Minister Gajendra Yadav, Tourism Minister Rajesh Agrawal, along with MP Brijmohan Agrawal, MP Rup Kumari Choudhary, Kamlesh Jangde, and MLAs Anuj Sharma, Sunil Soni and Purandar Mishra. All public representatives extended greetings of Teeja to women and encouraged them to actively participate in the development of society.
