“Improved Road Connectivity will Accelerate the Development of Tribal Regions”: Chief Minister Shri Sai
Raipur : Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, paid a courtesy visit to Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Shri Nitin Gadkari, at his residence in New Delhi. During the meeting, the two leaders engaged in an in-depth discussion on the construction of national highways, the progress of various road projects in Chhattisgarh, and future infrastructure initiatives.
Chief Minister Shri Sai informed Shri Gadkari of the latest status of key road projects currently underway in the state and affirmed the Chhattisgarh government’s commitment to completing construction work within given timelines. He emphasised that efforts are being intensified to connect remote and tribal-dominated regions with major road networks, with the aim of providing better connectivity and economic opportunities to the residents of these areas.
The discussion also highlighted the critical need to strengthen the road network in industrial zones and recently formed districts to facilitate holistic development across the state. Chief Minister Shri Sai emphasized that roads are not merely a means of transportation, but serve as a foundation for employment generation, for attracting investment, and for boosting socio-economic transformation.
Union Minister Shri Nitin Gadkari appreciated the priorities and vision of the Chhattisgarh government and assured that the Central Government will continue to extend every possible support to the state. He said that enhanced road access to tribal regions will not only accelerate development but also bring about long-lasting and positive changes in those areas.
During the meeting, Chief Minister Shri Sai also briefed Shri Gadkari on the state’s long-term strategy under the “Chhattisgarh Anjor Vision 2047”, which envisions the development of an integrated and environment-friendly transport system. He added that Chhattisgarh Government is giving highest priority to development of road connectivity in rural and border regions to ensure inclusive development reaches every citizen.
