Raipur: Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Gramin is not only providing permanent houses to the needy, but is also giving a new place and self-respect to their dreams. One such story is of 70-year-old Santu Chakras, a resident of village Dokra of Kansabel development block of Jashpur district.
Santu Chakras, an elderly man who lived in difficult conditions in a kutcha house for years, is very happy today because he has got his first permanent house. The special thing was that he received the keys of this house from the hands of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai, when he was recently on a visit to Jashpur.
An emotional Santu Chakras thanked the Chief Minister and said that "At this stage of life, when one wants to live free from worries, this permanent house is God's blessing for me. Now I and my family are neither afraid of rain nor of poisonous creatures. Now we also have a safe and strong home."
Santu Chakres said that he was sanctioned a concrete house under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, which is now fully built. This is not just a house, but a symbol of self-respect, security and stability for him. After living in a hut-like house for years, when he got his own solid roof, the happiness on his face was worth seeing.
