Former Governor Shri Ramesh Bais and Deputy Chief Minister Shri Arun Sao attended the last Darshan and paid tribute
Raipur : Former Rajya Sabha MP and renowned social worker Shri Shrigopal Vyas was accorded a final farewell with state honors on Thursday. Following his passing, Shri Vyas had donated his body to All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Raipur, as per his wishes, for medical research and education. Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, Former Governor Shri Ramesh Bais, and Deputy Chief Minister Shri Arun Sao attended the last rites to pay their emotional tributes.
Chief Minister Shri Sai offered his respects at Shri Vyas' residence, while Former Governor Shri Bais paid tribute at AIIMS Raipur. Deputy Chief Minister Shri Sao expressed heartfelt condolences, describing Shri Vyas as an inspirational figure whose exemplary work would continue to guide future generations. In his tribute, Deputy Chief Minister Shri Arun Sao said, “Shri Vyas’s entire life was a beacon of dedication and service. We will strive to follow the path he set and honor his contributions to society.”
Other notable leaders who paid their respects included MP Shri Brijmohan Agarwal, who said that Shri Gopal Shri Vyas was a very gentleman and his demise is a loss to society. Revenue Minister Shri Tankaram Verma, MLA Shri Rajesh Munat, MLA Shri Anuj Sharma, MLA Guru Khuswant Saheb, former Assembly Speaker Shri Gaurishankar Agarwal, former MLA Shri Arun Vora, Shri Pawan Sai, Shri Narayan Namdev, former President of Chhattisgarh Hindi Granth Academy Shri Shashank Sharma, Collector Dr. Gaurav Singh, Municipal Corporation Commissioner Shri Avinash Mishra, District Panchayat CEO Shri Vishwadeep were present in the tribute program.
In a Cabinet meeting, Chief Minister Shri Sai had decided to honor the legacy of the democracy fighter with a state honors farewell. In line with this decision, Collector Dr Gaurav Singh oversaw the arrangements for the final tribute, ensuring that Shri Shrigopal Vyas received state honors in recognition of his significant contribution.
