Raipur : Under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, Chhattisgarh Government is setting new benchmarks of development, elevating its standing at the national level. The state has been allocated Rs 1,171 crore from the central government for the improvement of its roadways, education, infrastructure, and healthcare sectors. Chhattisgarh now ranks among the top five states receiving special assistance under the Centre’s Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) scheme. In fact, Chhattisgarh has surpassed states such as Assam, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, Tripura, Goa, and Sikkim.
Chhattisgarh Government is consistently advancing its initiatives to enhance the ease of living and improve the standard of living for its people. From Bastar to Surguja, the government has been proactive in understanding the challenges faced by various sections of society and taking swift decisions for their welfare. This approach has fostered a stronger bond between the government and the public, which is why Chhattisgarh ranks among the top five states in the Centre's CAPEX scheme.
Under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, the Chhattisgarh government has also established a new department – the Department of Good Governance and Convergence – which will focus on addressing public grievances across various governmental sectors. To ensure that beneficiaries receive 100% of the benefits from government schemes, performance reports will be prepared at the district level by collectors. The digitalisation of government departments and public welfare services has not only brought transparency to operations but also enhanced departmental performance, further strengthening the people's trust in the government.
Chhattisgarh is also taking significant steps to modernise its government departments. These include the digitalisation of 90 public services under the Public Service Guarantee Act, the introduction of the Government e-Marketplace (GeM) portal to bring transparency to government procurements, the creation of separate portals for different departments, and efforts towards implementing e-offices. Simplifying the process for obtaining No Objection Certificates (NOCs) for various business and industrial units affiliated with governmental departments further highlights Chief Minister Shri Sai’s visionary approach towards strengthening the ease of living. The state is swiftly working towards enhancing the lives of ordinary citizens by aligning with the Centre’s digital public infrastructure policies.
Whether it’s connecting the youth to entrepreneurship or disbursing short-term agricultural loans to farmers, the Chhattisgarh government is making transformational strides, the impact of which is already visible. This is evident in the fact that Chhattisgarh's DPI score stands at 37.0, outperforming Delhi (68.2), West Bengal (42.9), and Uttarakhand (41.0) among the 788 districts in the country where spending and investment possibilities are being explored. Compared to other states, Chhattisgarh continues to witness sustained development, with these initiatives being tailored to meet the needs of the common people.
