Knowledge and Green revolutions sweeping Adivasi-dominated Dantewada

5, 000 students study from school to college at Education City 


Adivasi-dominated Dantewada district is slowly being freed from clutches of  the Left-Wing Extremism. The district is racing in the fields of education revolution and Green Revolution through Organic farming. Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh toured the region as a part of State-wide Lok Suraj Mission-2018 and witnessed the rapid changing landscape in the hinterland. There is  rapid development in the Naxalites' violence affected district.
Chief Minister expressed his satisfaction and said that the Education City based at village Jawanga is earning laurels in the State as well as entire country. Global Audit Unit KPMG had included the Education City among the top 100 Innovative initiatives in the entire globe. The huge educational premises is located on hundred acres of land. An amount of Rs One hundred crores had been invested in more than 20 school and colleges had been operating. The premises operate classes from  U. K.G. to  I.T.I., polytechnic  and degree college. Ultra-modern amenities are available on the premises where primary, middle, high school, higher secondary and college operate. There are about five thousand students studying on the campus.
Hostel facilities are available for the school students. They are getting trained in various  subjects and preparing for better future ahead. The Education City is named after the architect of Chhattisgarh State former Prime Minister Mr. Atal Behari Vajpayee. Barrier-free school is operating for the differently -able students which is the first of its kind in the entire State.
'Astha Vidya Mandir' boarding school operates for the children of the families hit by Left-Wing Extremism violence. There are about one thousand students studying in the school. It may be mentioned here that Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi visited the Education City on 9 May 2015. Mr. Modi had an interaction with the students and appreciated the modern facilities available on the premises.
Meanwhile 'Pade Dantewada-Leeke Dantewada'  Mission had been launched.  The aim is to make children understand and speak Hindi and Mathematics in simple terms. Monitoring is being done through Mob App. About 36 thousand children are being benefitted by this initiative. The students are learning the subjects at a rapid pace. The health profile of students is also included. Other nineteen thousand students in ashram schools, Adivasi Schools are being examined and treated free of cost. Hemoglobin test report portal is also being uploaded so that the anaemic students are monitored on a regular basis. The results of the students in the X and XII Board examinations are very encouraging. 'Chulo Aasman' Mission helps the students of Ninth and 12th standards in preparing for the elite all India institutes and the results are very encouraging. Nineteen students had been admitted to the National Institute of Technology (N.I.T.) and 155 students to the various Engineering colleges. Three students had been admitted to medical colleges.
Similarly, four thousand farmers had adopted organic farming and set a new trend in Dantewada district. Most of them are Adivasi farmers. The authorities are helping in fencing of fields as a part of  'Mocho badi' Project.
