Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel has assured the farmers of the state that the state government will procure paddy from farmers at the rate of 15 quintals per acre, irrespective of whether the time for paddy procurement is increased or the number of paddy purchase installments. Suppose to deposit in three ferry or five ferry, then it will be increased if required. The committees will ensure procurement of paddy according to their capacity like fork weight, number of hamlets etc. The Chief Minister was discussing with media representatives before leaving for a tour of Balod and Balodabazar district at Police Line Grounds here this morning.

    The Chief Minister appealed to the farmers not to pay attention to the rumors being spread regarding the paddy purchase, saying that the runoff is spreading those who have been brokering paddy procurement and consuming paddy from other states in Chhattisgarh. The Chief Secretary also interacted with the farmers present there and assured them to issue tokens for the purchase of paddy as per the capacity of the committee and to purchase paddy from all the genuine farmers at the rate of 15 quintals per acre from their registered acreage. He directed the officers to give priority to small and marginal farmers for issuing tokens for paddy purchase.

    It is important to note that Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel has said that the farmers of the state do not have to worry about any kind. The state government will buy the entire paddy. The farmers are getting paid on time. They should stay away from the rumors being spread regarding the purchase of paddy. If needed, the time of purchase of paddy and the number of installments will also be increased. Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel has instructed the Chief Secretary to check the arrangement of paddy procurement centers, under which the Chief Secretary along with a team of officers visited various districts of the state for two days and inspected the arrangements of the procurement centers there.     The Chief Secretary inspected the Paddy Procurement Centers located at Chirachari in Rajnandgaon district, Rengakhar in Kawardha district, Pandarbhatta in Mungeli district, Kota-Pipsarai-Bharari-Navra in Bilaspur district, Charpara in Janjgir-Champa district on December 9. During the inspection, he talked to the farmers directly and got information about the paddy purchase system. Farmers said that farmers are being given full support in paddy procurement centers. Shri Mandal also saw the online information being registered regarding registration and payment of farmers in paddy procurement centers. In Rengakhar, the farmer said that the message of money deposited in the mobile account has come. In Panderbhatta Mungeli, old farmers were also found selling paddy on tokens. The Chief Secretary has also instructed the District Collectors to form a milling scheme to get more and more paddy off the procurement centers by the millers. Dr. Kamalpreet Singh, Secretary, Food Department, Smt. Shammi Abidi, Managing Director of Markfed, Collector and Superintendent of Police were present on the occasion.
