Election Commission denies voting in Ramadan

Election Commission has refused any change in time for voting in the days of Ramzan. In fact, in the Supreme Court, lawyer Mohammed Nizamuddin Pasha and Asad Hyatt filed a petition for change in the time of the three-phase polling in Ramadan.

It was said in the petition that considering the fierce heat and fasting of Ramadan, the polling should be done from 7 am to 5:30 in the morning instead of seven o'clock so that people will face less problems.

The Bench headed by Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi had asked the Election Commission to take a decision on this matter last Thursday. But the Election Commission has denied any change in the time limit in the remaining three phases of voting.

It has been tried according to the Election Commission that elections do not fall on Friday but it is not possible to change the time limit.

Ramzan in India starting on Tuesday.
