Workers and employees working in factories and institutions will get paid leave on the voting date.

People employed in private or public establishments, shops, industrial undertakings or businesses in the neighboring state of Chhattisgarh will also get paid leave on the voting day of the home state.

Workers of first and second poly in factories working seven days a week will get 02 hours holiday each on the day of voting.

Raipur : According to the guidelines issued by the Election Commission of India, on the scheduled voting date for the Lok Sabha elections, 2024, every worker and employee working in the factories and establishments covered under the Factories Act, 1948 and Chhattisgarh Shops and Establishments Act, 1953, will be required to register with the Government of Chhattisgarh State. The date of voting in the parliamentary constituency has been declared a paid holiday by the state government.

Voting is to be held in Chhattisgarh state parliamentary constituency Bastar on April 19, Rajnandgaon, Mahasamund and Kanker on April 26 and Surguja, Raigarh, Janjgir-Champa, Korba, Bilaspur, Durg and Raipur on May 7.

Similarly, many voters of the neighboring state who are employed in private or public establishments, shops, industrial undertakings or business in Chhattisgarh, such employed and working relatives have also been declared a paid holiday on the voting day of their home state. The scheduled voting date for Lok Sabha elections-2024 in Andhra Pradesh, Orissa, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand and Telangana states is 13 May in Andhra Pradesh, 13, 20, 25 May and 1 June in Orissa, 19, 26 April and 07 in Maharashtra. On 13 and 20 May, in Madhya Pradesh on 19 and 26 April and 7 and 13 May, in Uttar Pradesh on 19 and 26 April and on 7, 13, 20, 25 May and 1 June, in Jharkhand on 13, 20 and 25 May and 1 June. Voting is to be held in Telangana on 13 May.

Also, in such factories which work seven days a week, the workers of the first and second poly have been declared a holiday of 02-02 hours on the day of voting by the state government and in the factories which come under continuous process, work has been done. The workers have been directed to provide the facility to vote out of turn.
