Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh has expressed deep sorrow over the demise of former Prime Minister of the country and the creation of 'Bharat Ratna' of Chhattisgarh State, Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee. He has given a humble tribute to late Shri Vajpayee. He is praying to God that he has the power to calm his soul and patronize the countrymen. He said, "I do not understand what words I will make to Atal ji." They were like my teacher and father. Like his 125 crore Indians, I too amazed and distraught.
Dr. Raman Singh said in a condolence message in capital Raipur today that the late Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee was not only one of India but also of the great leaders of the world. With his passing, a bright star of the country's politics ended. He was an equally respected extremely popular politician in all sections of Indian society, among all citizens and all political parties.
In his nearly 50 years of parliamentary life, his singular talent gained equal popularity in both the party and the opposition. Three times in the year 1996, 1998 and in 1999, as the Prime Minister, the country gave its efficient leadership. Dr. Raman Singh said - The gentle and friendly person of Atal ji will always remember us all.
The Chief Minister said that more than two and a half crore people of Chhattisgarh will always remember him as a state producer. The Chief Minister said that Mr. Vajpayee had promised to make Chhattisgarh state in a huge public assembly in Raipur in 1998. They fulfilled the promise of the people of Chhattisgarh by fulfilling their promise in 2000.
It was the nobility of Shri Vajpayee and the humility of his great personality was that when we invited Raipur as the Chief Guest in the Rajya Sabha on the occasion of Chhattisgarh State Establishment Day in November 2004, he said addressing the people here. Was that not the maker of Chhattisgarh state but all of you, that is, half a million people of this state.
Dr. Singh said that Shri Vajpayee had a deep emotional connection with the people of Chhattisgarh region. Many memories of the people of the region are associated with them. He has been involved in various programs of the state several times. At the hands of Atal ji, in January 2002, the foundation of a massive power thermal power house of 1980 MW capacity was laid in the presence of Bilaspur district.
Atal ji launched Kushabhau Thakre Journalism and Mass Communication University in Raipur on April 16, 2005, and on the same day, Pandit Ravi Shankar joined the Shukla University as the Chief Guest at the 11th Convocation ceremony. Shri Vajpayee also addressed the Panchayat Raj Conference held in Raipur that day and also unveiled the statue of Swami Vivekananda in the historic old age of the capital.
In the year 1977-78 as Foreign Minister, he extended the honor of India's national language by giving a speech in Hindi at the General Assembly of the United Nations. In 1998, through a successful nuclear test under his leadership in Pokhran, India emerged as a powerful nation.
As the Prime Minister, Shri Vajpayee's development and development of the country, the last line of the society of the poor and peasants society, is also remembered for the betterment of the people, that these works are still remembered and will always be remembered. Dr. Raman Singh said that - Prime Minister Gram Sadak Yojana is a gift from Shri Vajpayee, which has facilitated better movement of millions of villages with perennial roads.
