Raipur : President Smt. Droupadi Murmu unveiled three new publications from Chhattisgarh's Tribal Welfare Department at a ceremony held at Purkhouti Muktangan in Nava Raipur on October 25. The books are titled 'Adi Nari: Adiwasi Mahilao Ki Asmita Aur Gaurav Gatha’, Margdarshika—A Guide for Implementing the Forest Rights Act, and 'Podadguma Pen Karsad'. Governor Shri Ramen Deka presented the first copies of these three books to the President. These works highlight tribal culture, women's empowerment, and forest rights preservation in Chhattisgarh.
Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, Deputy Chief Minister Shri Arun Sao, Union Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development Shri Tokhan Sahu, Agriculture Minister Shri Ram Vichar Netam, Food Minister Shri Dayal Das Baghel, Health Minister Shri Shyam Bihari Jaiswal, Women and Child Development Minister Smt. Laxmi Rajwade, Revenue Minister Shri Tank Ram Verma, Raipur Lok Sabha MP Shri Brijmohan Agrawal, and MLAs Shri Khushwant Saheb and Shri Rohit Sahu.
Adi Nari: Adiwasi Mahilao Ki Asmita Aur Gaurav Gatha reflects the decade-long journey of social and economic progress for tribal women in Chhattisgarh. It discusses key human development indicators, such as advancements in education, economic self-sufficiency, social contributions, and improvements in gender balance.
Margdarshika serves as a comprehensive guide for effective Forest Rights Act implementation, ensuring Scheduled Tribes in Chhattisgarh receive their rightful forest benefits. It also provides strategies to address potential challenges in upholding these rights.
The book Podadguma Pen Karsad delves into the Gond tribe's cultural and religious practices, focusing on the 75-day Podadguma Pen Karsad festival held every seven years in Temrupani village. It captures the rich tapestry of rituals, dances, music, and traditional instruments, celebrating the Gond community's Pen worship tradition and cultural legacy.
Chief Secretary Shri Amitabh Jain, DGP Shri Ashok Juneja, Principal Secretary of Tribal Welfare Department Shri Sonamni Bora, Principal Secretary of Culture Department Shri Anbalgan P., Secretary to Chief Minister Shri P. Dayanand, Commissioner Tribal Development Shri Narendra Dugga, and Director Archaeology and Culture Shri Vivek Acharya were also present in the program.
