Rajnandgaon district has secured the third position nationwide in the delta ranking declared by NITI Aayog for the agriculture and water resources fields under aspirational districts. The district's remarkable achievement has earned it praise as a 'Champion of Change' from NITI Aayog. Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel extended his heartfelt congratulations to the officers and employees of the District Administration, Panchayat, Agriculture, and Water Resources Departments for their outstanding work in these areas. Officials attribute Rajnandgaon's success to significant progress in various indicators released by NITI Aayog, including the expansion of micro-irrigation, the development of water sources under MNREGA, animal vaccination, artificial insemination, and enhanced agricultural productivity. The district's dedication to agricultural growth and water management has been recognised on a national level.


Rajnandgaon district achieved an impressive milestone by securing the third position in the delta ranking for the most developed aspirational districts in the country, as per the May 2023 release. The district's farmers have greatly benefited from the state government's farmer-friendly schemes like Suraji Gaon Yojana, Godhan NYAY Yojana, and Rajiv Gandhi Kisan NYAY Yojana, coupled with advancements in agriculture and modern technology. Additionally, innovative water management initiatives have yielded positive outcomes, contributing to the overall prosperity of the district.
