Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Wednesday urged the voters of the Bhanupratappur assembly constituency to vote for Manoj Mandavi’s widow Savitri Mandavi and predicted a Congress victory.
Addressing a public meeting at Bhanupratappur, Baghel claimed that the Congress was in the electoral battlefield on the development plank and people would vote for the Congress so that it can pursue its policies. Banking on the sympathy vote, Baghel said each voter should make Savitri Mandavi victorious in order to pay homage to Manoj Mandavi, who represented the seat.
A Congress victory will be a fitting reply to those indulging in "scandals", he said, in an obvious reference to the BJP. And he predicted a Congress win the elections to be held on December 5.
