Only those States progress where daughters are respected: Dr. Raman Singh : Chief Minister thanks citizens during 'Vikaas Yatra'

Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh today said that only those states progress where daughters are honoured and respected. The citizens of Chhattisgarh worship Mata Danteshwari, which is a symbol of worshipping daughters. This is the main reason that State is on fast track of rapid progress. There are 125  girl students for every 100 boys in various colleges of State.

Chief Minister was addressing a gathering as a part of State-wide 'Vikaas Yatra' at Adivasi-dominated Bastar (Jagdalpur). He said that with the blessings of the people of the State that they got the strength to develop the State. 'Vikaas Yatra' is actually 'Thanksgiving Yatra'. Chhattisgarh will soon become the most developed State in the entire country. The State Government had launched Saraswati Cycle Yojana for the girls of the depressed sections of the society. The attendance of girls in High Schools had risen to 97 per cent.

Chief Minister said that Bastar divisional block is very crucial. There are 324 women's self-help groups in which four thousand women procure cashew nuts. They had procured two thousand ton cashew nuts . 440 k.v.capacity electricity supply line had been laid from Raipur to Bastar. Ninety per cent citizens are allocated cheap rice, free salt and cheap grams. The patients are provided with Rs 50 thousand insurance against medical treatment.
