Judgment on Sajid Khan’s case within a week: IFTDA president Ashoke Pandit

About a month ago, the Indian Film & Television Directors’ Association issued a notice to director Sajid Khan following allegations of sexual harassment against him by three women. In a letter to Sajid, IFTDA has demanded an explanation from the director for his alleged offensive behaviour.

After the notice, Sajid sent his reply denying all allegations. His statement read, “I apologise to IFTDA if any embarrassment has been caused to the association by the alleged accusation against me. These allegations have not only caused irreparable harm to my career, but more importantly, grieved my mother and sister immensely. At the outset, I deny the complaints levelled against me as stated in your notice. I humbly request you to not to form any one-sided judgment. I am always happy to extend any cooperation to my association.”

Recently the body hosted a conference on the need to curb sexual harassment at the workplace and its redressal under the POSH Act, 2013. President of IFTDA, Ashoke Pandit revealed that the ICC of IFTDA will pass a judgment on Sajid’s case within the next few days. “We sent Sajid Khan two notices. He didn’t reply to the first notice but did to the second. We had a thorough discussion with him, read out the complaints to him and grilled him on them. He negated all the allegations. The ICC is going to meet in a couple of days to go through the case and will come out with a judgment within a week.”

After a series of sexual harassment allegations, Sajid Khan was asked to step down as the director of Housefull 4 until his name is cleared.
