Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel said that Shaheed Shri Nandkumar Patel actively worked towards the upliftment and development of farmers, labourers, tribal people, women and youth of the state. Shaheed Shri Nandkumar Patel was known for his tenacity and determination. And now Chhattisgarh Government is making consistent efforts to realize the vision and dreams of Shri Nandkumar Patel for the development of farmers, tribal labourers, women, youth and other sections of the society. 

Chief Minister Mr. Baghel was addressing a public meeting organized at Mahatma Gandhi College premises, after the unveiling of a life-size statue of Shaheed Mr. Nand Kumar Patel in front of the circuit house in Kharsia block headquarters of Raigarh district today. He said that through various government schemes such as Godhan Nyay Yojana, Kisan Nyay Yojana, minor forest produce procurement, Rajiv Gandhi Rural Landless Agricultural Mazdoor Nyay Yojana, Rajiv Yuva Mitan Club, we are working towards realizing the vision of martyr Shri Nand Kumar Patel. 

On this occasion, Chief Minister Mr. Baghel said that under Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana which is being implemented to promote crop diversification, the input subsidy for Kharif crops including paddy would be Rs 9,000 per acre and not less than that. He said that this scheme has improved the economic condition of the farmers in the state. If the support price of paddy increases in the coming years, then farmers will be provided a higher price for paddy. Mr. Baghel said that we will not rest until the martyrs of Jheeram Valley.
Higher Education Minister Mr. Umesh Patel said that Shaheed Shri Nandkumar Patel had a futuristic approach towards the development works. He continued to work for the development of farmers, workers, youth, women and every section of society. As a result of his efforts in education sector, Kharsiya resgion has Navodaya Vidyalaya, Eklavya Vidyalaya, Model School and Swami Atmanand School today. He said that Shri Patel had a dream to open a university in Raigarh for the convenience of the students of Dharamjaigarh and other remote areas here. When Chief Minister Mr. Baghel came to know about his dream, Mr. Baghel honoured it and decided to open a university in Raigarh in the name of Shaheed Mr. Nand Kumar Patel for the convenience of college going students. 
 Agriculture Minister Mr. Ravindra Choubey said in his address on this occasion that since the time of undivided Madhya Pradesh, Shri Nandkumar Patel used to speak with conviction for the interests of common people and for the development of Chhattisgarh state. He was known to be a gentleman with a compassionate heart and a person who fought bravely for social cause. 
Food Minister Mr. Amarjeet Bhagat said that he always inspired and motivated us to serve the state of Chhattisgarh and to work for the welfare of people of this state. Inspired by his vision and teachings, Government of Chhattisgarh is continuously working for public welfare and development, under the leadership of Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel. Revenue Minister Mr. Jaisingh Agrawal said that Shri Nandkumar Patel was had strong determination and will power. He knew how to turn his vision into reality, which led to the development of Kharsia. MLA Kondagaon Mr. Mohan Markam while paying tribute to Shri Patel said that his leadership skills were amazing. He started from the post of Sarpanch, and went on to become the Home Minister of the state, proving his competence, leadership skills and intellect.
On this occasion, Parliamentary Secretary Mr. Chintamani Maharaj, Mr. Dwarkadhish Yadav, Shri Chandradev Rai, MLA Mr. Laljit Singh Rathia, MLA Mr. Prakash Nayak, MLA Mr. Chakradhar Singh Sidar, MLA Mrs. Uttari Ganpat Jangde, Mr. Vinay Bhagat, Mr. Gulab Kamro, Mr. Kismat Lal Nand, Mr. Mohit Ram Kerketta, Chairman of Chhattisgarh State Gau Seva Commission Mahant Shri Ram Sundardas, Chairman of Chhattisgarh State Text Book Corporation Mr. Shailesh Nitin Trivedi, Chairman of Chhattisgarh State Mineral Development Corporation Mr. Girish Devangan, Member Chhattisgarh Seed Corporation Mr. Dilip Pandey and a large number of public representatives including District Panchayat Raigarh President Mr. Nirakar Patel, IG Mr. Ratan Lal Dangi, Collector Raigarh Mr. Bhim Singh, Superintendent of Police Raigarh Mr. Abhishek Meena were present.
