 Chief Minister releases 'Bagwani Ke Bihan' booklet

Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel released booklet 'Bagwani Ke Bihaan' published by the Directorate of Horticulture and Farm Forestry during the virtual program organized under Godhan Nyay Yojana at his residence office here today. This booklet has been published for the purpose of making the public aware and encourage them for the cultivation of horticulture crops in the state of Chhattisgarh. In this book, detailed information has been given about the use of horticulture techniques and commercial production of crops.

 Congratulating the Horticulture Department for the publication of 'Bagwani ke Bihaan' booklet, Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel said that the Chhattisgarh government is making efforts to bring a change in the income and standard of living of the farmers in the state. He said that along with upgrading traditional agriculture with means and facilities, it is necessary to give importance to the production of horticulture crops. The program was attended by Home Minister Shri Tamradhwaj Sahu, Agriculture Minister Shri Ravindra Choubey, Forest Minister Shri Mohammad Akbar, Women and Child Development Minister Smt. Anila Bhendia, Advisors to the Chief Minister Shri Ruchir Garg & Shri Pradeep Sharma, Additional Chief Secretary Shri Subrata Sahu, Special Secretary Agriculture Department and Nodal Officer of Godhan Nyay Yojana Dr. S. Bharathidasan, Director of Horticulture and Veterinary Shri Matheswaran V. and other senior officers.


 In the Bagwani ke Bihan booklet, along with the area, production and productivity of horticulture crops in Chhattisgarh, information on 11 major varieties of fruits, 11 major varieties of vegetables, 4 major varieties of flowers, 3 major varieties of spices, 5 major varieties of medicinal & aromatic crops and protected farming has been included. Apart from this, information has been given in this booklet about the possibilities of cultivation of fruits, vegetables and spices as well as oil palm and olive cultivation in the state of Chhattisgarh.
